Call yourself a man and you don't own a collection of drills
Even my mother has a hammer drill that would be suitable.

If a regular drill can't hack it let me know and I'll pop over one evening with my SDS drill. That'll go through most building materials.

More than likely I have, my SDS would be best if you're drilling into concrete. will need to check i'f i've got a 12mm masonry bit for it though.

It came with a masonry bit - that's the problem it's too big for my drill

:smt090 yes I only have 3 drills, none of which are suitable. :(
The drill bit I have is not SDS, just a regular drill bit - are SDS bits different?
Oh, & the drill bit is 20mm, it just narrows at the chuck end to 12mm.
I have a bolt but will need to get a rawl plug

Yep they are.

In that case could probably use my SDS drill with the normal chuck adapter, will need to check later that all the bits are there for that (van is off being MOT'd at the moment)
Edit: Don't use a rawl plug you'll need a sleeve anchor or shield anchor or if you already have the bolt you'll need a drop in anchor
