View Full Version : Who wants my black SV...I've found my V Raptor

I've been thinking about this one for a very long time, as some of you may know. I wanted to get an Xtra Raptor, but they are darned hard to find.
Bad timing but I think I've just found a V Raptor that ticks the boxes I'm looking for, apart from standard cans..have to do something about that, I prefer to quote Carnivore ' an exhaust note that resembles a face melting guitar solo':smt077:smt035
Dave the bike needs slightly fiddling with in the way of a service as its been stood for a wee while from November. So if the V Raptor is still where its being sold for a few weeks, I can get whats needed done on the SV. I was hoping to make it until later in the year for selling, when baby is born, a sort of present for being a good girl......but the Raptor is calllllllling!!!
I've really missed Matts Raptor being around since he took her back home with him at xmas, I really miss the windows rattling when it comes round the back, and the doggies jumping about in excitement. So I want my own.

ARGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH what do I do:confused:

Roll up, roll up, form an orderly queue, you all know the shiny shiny reputation..........

No, really? I don't think anyone realised that ;)

Do you really need to ask?

DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!! Get Dave into the for sale section

Like I said he needs a slight bit of fiddling. Has to pass my rigorous tests of polishing, but I need a big strong man to get it out of the shed for me at the moment. Pegs at work too often ;-)

flutters eyelids at all local blokes, including Im Indoors if hes looking!

as long as its not a grey or red one from chekered mcs then go for it!!!!

lovely and small and quick. still its a v rap. should have gone for the standard as its much more pretty :)

No I have an acquired taste, the V Raptor appeals to my oddness.
Plus not much of a fairing, but matt but a kinky screen on the front, which helps muchly on the motorway. A nakid one for me would give me the neck of a bulldog, and probably push me off the back!!

Its silver, as they should be. I hate the ghey red ones. And its not from Dodgy Daz either ;-)

In all fairness, I'm more likely to miss out, as its seriously bad timing. Somebody else would have to test ride it, and somebody else would have to keep her going until baby is out.

I'm droooling!

I'm sure there would be a few takers to keep the V ticking over

They are ghey, they don't look right. The V Raptor ones anyway(nakid ones are okish). For starters if you look at the indicators housing they are grey, they look really mismatched to the rest of the bike...could have dyed them red as well!!

SO....who wants a black curvy SV, 33kish miles, with a high level scorpion exhaust, seat cowl. spare seats, gel seat, new shock, Ohlins springs, T&T til Aug/Sept, plenty of blingy shiny shiny to polish and a full YC service then?

Might be interested in a standard riders seat of you've got one going spare? ;-)

Got a gel seat on mine but I find the normal one slightly more comfy

Well insurance seems to be not too bad.
56 quid if I swap before renewal at end of May. :-) Hopefully a good sign for a full year
Possibility of going to see it looking very good for next week.

Maybe by the time I get things sorted out, tinkering wise on the SV, it'll be renewal time anyway!

Can't be that bad, you've got plenty NCB and age behind you :-P

For me on SRAD it was only £200 with all the mods declared. I wouldn't insure me for that lol.

dizzyblonde
09-04-10, 07:09 PM
Indeed. She said yes you have five years no claims....yes I do I replied and I am an old burd, so make sure its cheap :-)
Plus also the minimal mileage it will get also helped. But still only a quote, but very nice to know.
Gotta do your homework first!
Excess was reasonable too. Not much more IMO than the SV for a wheelie monster :-)

yorkie_chris
09-04-10, 07:11 PM
I'm gonna have to test ride on of these fellas, SV1000s I've tried are not a monster by any means.

Does the raptor have the same minging clutch as the SVthou or a cable one?

dizzyblonde
09-04-10, 07:12 PM
No idea, not a clue. Something I haven't paid attention to. AFAIK its a cable one.

Besides I do have a couple of folk interested;).

Pete has said yes to the Raptor I'm looking at:cheers:. I'll be ringing them tomorrow to book a test ride on it for Weds. Obviously not me, well actually no harm in a car park for me, but I want Pete to make sure its all kosher.

If all goes to plan, I'll be looking to have it cleaned up within the next couple of weeks, and looking to have sold before the middle of May.

I shall have an answer with how much, pics, bling, parts etc, and offer it to those who have genuinely shown interest first. Then it'll be in the for sale section.
But, I won't be making an effort until I've seen this Raptor on Weds.
