You'll be pleased to know that my two year old has decided from the noise that you are riding a black bike, which is definitely not a scooter.

Come on, tell if there was any more damage? Or did you get lucky and spit it straight out the back? AA/RAC job was it?

Just took off the sprocket cover and the only damage that has been done is that one of the bolts is bent in the plastic sprocket cover .

Had to get AA recovery home and the Badgeress had to bring dinner over to mine instead of me turning up at hers . New Chain and Sprocket came to £114 from B and C Express with delivery for a Tsubaki X ring with JT carbon Steel Sprockets . It`s a Half Hour job to sort Anna :)

What was the cause of the snappage anyhow

Urgh - how annoying. Have to admit this is one of my worst nightmares.

Glad there was no major damage to you or the bike.

Nice quality recording too. :)

What was the cause of the snappage anyhow

No idea Darren , chain was and has been lubed with a Scottoiler , adjusted correctly , no signs of wear anywhere , not even a year old and the plate sheared directly in the middle and not around the pins . You couldn`t even pull it away from the sprocket very far at all so it wasn`t worn and the sprockets are ploished but not hooked or unevenly worn . I would send it back but I know it would be a waste of postage as they will have a scientific reason for getting out of it like "you took it out of the packet"

Postman arrived eventually today , the Poor Badgeress had waited in all day after her nightshift . She collected me from work and then scarpered so she could get some kip . I whipped off the front Sprocket and slung the new one on and was getting ready to put the worm actuator mechanism back in when I discovered .............. the damage . It`s only gone and sheared the Clutch push rod , absolutely gutted , ordered a new one from Robinson`s Foundry for £8 ...... but what a pain in the arris this is gonna be with no bike . The Badgeress can`t take me to work every day so I guess the Mountain Bike and train commute will have to start again .

no rear wheel lockup, no pillon, not 300+ miles from home, not overtaking a caravan with oncoming cars
badger must try harder
in fairness i should have been there to give you a lift back for the pub :)
