Our resident horsey person (in work) won.
We all watched, and were quite amused by the one horse that was refusing the jockey and then once the jockey was on said 'Oh yeah? Well I'm not going anywhere' when it started.
(I don't bet on stuff)

Yep, £10 win on the winner. AP McCoy had to win it sometime :D

I got £85 back, not sniffing my nose at that!! First time I have bet on the national!
I had the winner in the office sweep. Was cheering for Dream Alliance though :-)
Glad that all horses and jockies came through it ok

I went for the giggle horse.
The last time I was pregnant, I wanted to back a horse called Red Marauder, the colour and name of my mates bike.....and it won.
Well no guesses to what I backed this time....Irish Raptor.
Yippeee it was rather fast and doing well, until the rider realised he'd pulled the throttle too much and it threw him off into the 14th hedge!!!

I backed the winner and 3rd place.
Went to Ladies day yesterday with Nobbylass and won over £200.
She went on Thursday as well but won nowt.
Best year I've had on the Gee Gees for a long time.
i had a few bets on £2.5 e/w on mccoy cos he had to win it sometime, £5 e/w on black apalachia and £5 e/w on big fella thanks! so i got 3 of them in and made £40 profit for the day. good times!
really want to go for a day at the races, but i dont have the discipline to gamble sensibly whilst there!

Trust me, it's so hard to get a bet on, you'd probably save a fortune! Too many people these days, ends up being a right mess.

Clearly that has to be an omen of sorts, concerning exotic bike ownership.
Turn back, before it's too late! ;)

That name sounds decidedly dodgy to me ;-)
Attention now turns to Lee Westwood in The Masters......
£1 eachway on Black Apalachi, & £1 each way on State of Play.
A couple of quid up.

Nah, the one I'll be getting won't be an Irish Italian, so we should be ok not to go backwards in a cloud of electric smoke!
Besides this ones a Jap Italian hybrid, rather reliable compared to its thoroughbred stable mates.;)
I had £5 on Hello Bud to win - he was in the top 3 horses for quite a way towards the end... but obviously peaked too early. Shame - it would have won me £200 or so. They showed a winning betting slip on the TV after the race - from someone who'd placed £5k on the winner - and was set to get £80k back. Agh!

I had a £5 on the nose for Hello Bud as my dog is called Bud. Hello Bud also won the Scottish national last year so I thought i would take the chance!
£3.50 e/w on 5th and £2.50 e/w on winner at 16/1, returned about £88
happy days
backed westwood at the masters at 18/1 e/w too, so plenty of winners at the weekend :)

You backed the Brit - good man :-)
Michelson was unstoppable yesterday, looked like he was going to win it right from the first tee. Experience counts for a lot in those situations.
Well done Lee Westwood, though
I had moneys on Westwood (18's) and Poulter (35's) so after day 2 i was in a very good position.
I think the cack handed yank won it on day 3 with back to back eagles, very lucky imho, but he played the final day well i'll give him that...

. . . and didn't Tony McCoy look :p happy :p in those pics of the finish!
Ought to be a natural on a bike, too.
Well, stone me (not all at once please), I actually won the work's grand national sweepstakes. £22 quid it the bank for a £1 flutter, not bad I reckon.
