the sun is shining... its warm enough to fry an egg on the tank of me lovely bike... yipppeee i think its great to go for a runabout... anywhere will do..

i been cleaning house all morning waiting for him to return from a short stint at work.. he gets home and i, ever the optimist , ask where we heading on the bikes...

i'll pay the person who guess's his answer £10! :takeabow: (i'd say £100 but considering i'll be having to support myself soon :-D a tenner will have to do!) :D

you guys are all guessing along the right line...

he wanted to go............................

SHOPPING!!!!

nothing essential or life threatening... just to exchange a pair of jeans.. i suggested putting them in a backpack.. exchanging, riding home and dropping them off.

i think at that point i lost all hope.

what the freeeak is the point of all the gear.. i give up. does one not own a bike to go out and enjoy the sunshine after the horrendous winter we have just had?

a summer suit?? a straight jacket in a mental institution is what i thinking...

i generally do... but considering... there were no black clouds, no prospect of getting a bit too cold, he hadnt been working long hours, etc etc... i lived in hope

And I've had a fab day riding around the Cotswolds, only managed one bit of traffic, Saturdays are brilliant for riding as most people are 'Shopping'!
Sorry.....

But did get a fair few miles in, haven't enjoyed myself so much in ages.

Cheers! Mr Lou and I worked out last summer that Saturdays were definately the better day for going out on the bikes, and it ties in nicely with my sailing as the new boat will be here this week (yay!) so that's Sundays taken care off.

well this is what happens to denim in a 25mph slide down the road.

Luckily they have kevlar lining so my legs were untouched. So unless you're pushing the bike down the road in standard jeans, how much slower are you realistically gonna ride when you're not fully protected? I used to ride round London with just jeans on. After coming off at relatively low speed, I've realised if you wanna enjoy the ride just kit up fully. Sub 30mph spills can still leave you nice and skinless.

But each to their own I guess. I know I used to think 'Well if I wear jeans this one time, what's the chance I'll be crashing"? But then one time becomes a recurrence as you get lazier and fall into a false sense of biking security.

I'm sure the wind and freedom of flip flops and shorts must be fun, but not worth the risk IMO. But then again there are probably people having this discussion on a four wheeled forum about how you'd have to be a nutter to even consider getting a bike.

You sure your posting on the right thread?

funny, your Draggins came off prety bad compared to a friends 60mph slide off his Buell. Only the back pocket came unstitched on his. They are usually much better than that.

And yes, this threads about shopping, Mahhhhooosive derail...lol!
