ah so I've been lurking around here for a fair while now. Quietly observing and not saying a whole lot until my moment came to shine

after much dawdling I sold my '76 CB550 during the week in prep for a big trip this summer.

took a wee trip to Manchester Saturday morning and came back with this....

hurrah! I've joined the club! well smug, and it sounds like nuclear oblivion!

now just gotta contact the famous spanner man to get him prep'd for a trip to Shcandanvialand. (I've been informed by the previous owner Sandy that the bikes a dude called Digger!)

many thanks to those selling SV's who got back to me over the last while and best of luck with the sales.

oh i will. pure delighted with it so far. my ears were ringing like crazy by the time I got back to London. I've put the baffle in as it still sounds great and quite loud w/out being a hazard to car alarms. Now i can concentrate on the sheer joy of throwing it around. rides so much better than the cb which effectively had bicycle tyres! still it was cool to go vintage for a while.

So, are you bringing Digger to Soho sometime soon?

Enjoy it, but wear earplugs unless you want that ringing to become permanent.

i surely will. it'd be rude not to turn up. the goings on seem a bit suspect but I'll come along for a look none the less!

don't think the helmet helped with the noise issue, it's a flip-up airoh from an old cruiser I used to have. investing in a new lid tomorrrow.
