hey all.
me down in Newport/caerphilly for 6 weeks for one thing and another so i took the opportunity of popping to see Hovis' mum and taking her some flowers and a card off the org.
she was not in.. saw here neighbour .. who said she is actually in Hospital with her blood sugar levels.. left the items above with her to take to hospital.
I thne went up to the little church we went to on the day of his funeral and it was lovely- so serene - so sunny and all daffodils out .. YELLOW of course.. I shed a tear dont mind admitting it..
as it was not the right thing to take pics on the day of jis funeral and took a few with my phone of the church and lovely views for those that didnt make it on the day - will post them when I get home thursday pm as I dont have my cable .. and then I went to the gym in Caerphilly where he worked and asked in reception and they showed me the plaque (sp) on the wall in memory of him inthe gym there-
all in all it was a lovely hour with nice memories and the sun shining.. very very peaceful up there in the hills.. and as you will see the quaint church is right next to a pub ! very apt for Hovis
I just put on the card similar words to
Dear Mrs Furness
Just to let you know that David is never forgotten and will always be remembered by the ORG . from everyone at sv650.org.
just I am in the area and as I live so far away I thought would be nice to call. would have been nicer to have had a beer with the funny bugger but hey ...
pics to follow
Good on ya, I'm sure she will really appreciate it.

Quiff you are a legend. Such a lovely thought. Love you man!
Very admirable that you went. I always think that as time passes people forget how painful it is for those closest to the person. It's nice that you left the card. I hope she gets out of the hospital soon. :)
I always knew you were a soft bastid. ;)
Nice touch though matey.
I think that's a fantastic gesture.
Well done you.

I am sure she will be touched to know that we all still care and think of him.
Thanks for doing that on behalf of us all xxx
[Edit] Must admit, can't ever see a yellow Blade without getting all choked up...nor a Hovis delivery van
That was a lovely thought Quiff very sweet

It doesn't help that the Hovis bags have a yellow label with HOVIS in big yellow letters.
Don't think I could go back there yet, still think about him a lot...
Well done Quiff - look forward to the pic's it'll be great to see the place again.

Thank you Quiff, such a nice gesture.
On my first ever ride of my sv last weekend, i was waiting in traffic (too scared to filter) a CBR passed us and the rider was wearing the same yellow leather jacket that Hovis had. Couldn't help but think it was Hovis's way of watching over me on my first ride as i was petrafied but it was succesful. I know to some that will seem strange but it puts a smile on my face to think Hovis is up there looking down on us all!

Not only was it a man on a CBR with a yellow jacket, but it also happened to be the exact same colour and model as his first Blade. I hadn't noticed him, so when he went by I **** myself, but instantly had a different kind of warm feeling as I remembered my first Hovis encounter!

here is the leisure centre he worked at- I went in and asked about a memorial plaque I had heard about- and they were really accommodating and took me to the gym to show it to me..
