nevermind l'il lady ASH, its built for a pygmy! I feel too long in the leg ..lol.

And It maybe a little time til I can ride her, but I have agood shiny downpipe to get the ball rolling with what I have in store for her.

I shall say at this point that the little person is already getting bike experience, it was getting its knee down on the tank!

A good place to begin I think, think it was showing its approval :-)

Sweet :), you know what's next on the shopping list don't you (M4) ;)

dizzyblonde
14-04-10, 05:23 PM
Nah, its staying standard for a while, then if the right cans come up I may change them. Beowulf seems to be the best price at the moment, the M4s on the previous Raptor of the house weren't the best fit, although very loud and much fun, not my personal cuppa, even if they make your windows rattle :-)

Not that there are many to choose from.

cool, welcome to the club (not just the up the duff one) (not that Im up the duff, Ill hastily add, before DD has a heart attack) anyway. Hope you have many happy miles together and get a decent exhaust on it lol. OOh if you go over due, you could go out and start it up, will scare the wee buggar out.

You dont need a screen to go over 50mph i've had kitkats naked raptor upto 70mph (well that is the legal limit ya know ;)) although it may have bee closer to double that on my private runway of course

I know this already, Carnivore did that as soon as he bought the last one, but AFAK there is only ONE screen that goes on a VRaptor, which is sold at Emoto, but if anyone else knows a supplier step forward.

I don't fancy looking like a bulldog, particularly as I like to ride 'spirited on certain roads' that are 70mph :-)

It's for the baby to hold on to!

dizzyblonde
14-04-10, 05:42 PM
It so you can grab hold in case it shakes its head!

Don't fancy drilling holes in the horns for the screen, better give a drill to someone with a better aim.

I need to source a grab rail, as over the years its gone missing. There should be one, or a seat cowl. It has neither.

Pete you maybe right....or a nice shopping basket :-)

Well...Pete may have to ride it home for me, not that hes complaining, and I'm sure hes more than qualified to take it for a spin every now and again.

I'm afraid I'm just going to have to sit and lick it for a while, drool and perhaps polish its horns every now and again.

14-04-10, 08:24 PM
well i hope your happy with your new toy when you get your mitts on it. plenty of time to get it cleaned up before your riding again :) now the other thing is dont go hurting yourself on it, or drop it!

enjoy.

I actually feel more comfortable around it than the one that was here before. I never dare move it, maybe its because its mine and not someone elses. I never took the keys and tried it when on offer, this one I can't wait :-)
That damn sidestand does frighten me, far too upright are these Italian jobs, blow on it and it'll fall over.

Well, I seem to recall you being around the height of Stu on here. He sat on Matts at AR08 and proclaimed it as being knee height(this is on the standard set up too).
I think IIRC that Law had a go too....and he is very vertically challenged in the height dept.
Put it this way I am more than comfortable to have knees bent whilst standing with full foot firmly planted on floor both sides.

I'm not sure you'd have a problem to be fair.

I have a pic of me on it on Pegs phone, I'll see if I can upload it in a few mins

They're pretty low, kitkat used to be on her tip toes on her curvy SV and now can she can get both feet flat on the floor witrh the raptor

Bibio

mind i'm only 5' fek all.

supose i will have to go and sit on one, but it sounds good.

i'm on one tippy toe on a curvy and tippy toes on a pointy.

dizzyblonde
14-04-10, 08:49 PM
well according to specs I've just looked at, it says 805 mm seat height compared to SV 800mm. Well I think its lower than the SV, but its a completely different riding position too.

Tim in Belgium
14-04-10, 08:53 PM
Sod all this seat height mumbo jumbo, is it fast? Is it shiney? Does it scare small kids? Are you able to sleep before getting it home?

dizzyblonde
14-04-10, 08:56 PM
LOL @ Tim.
It is fast, it is sorta shiny, it will scare small kids when it has new cans(or if it just looks at em) and I couldn't sleep anyway with someone playing footie in me :-)

now beware of bedraggled preggers bird with funny grin, not the best pics

Be nice to your new Italian friend/fiend and dump those H***a CBF look-a-likey silencers and get some twin boom-boom sticks on there.

Only had a seat on one , Kitkats (that there is an X tho?) and my thoughts were low, light and license goodbye. It also had the concussion of mortars if you were close by. Nice.

Say hello to big twin slow motion monos, you will not be able to help yersel.

Kitkats is the naked Raptor

Mine is a V Raptor

The Xtra is like mine, but everything on it is carbon fibre. Its like a carbon colour paint too. Dark and sinsiter looking!
I wanted one, but more rare than mine, as there were only 1000 worldwide.

They're to make the bike look horny! Really?? Dunno, do absolutely nowt AFAIK! Maybe Mr Galluzzi was smoking some serious schhtuff when he designed it!

Well, I had a long chat with Rictus and Carnivore before committing to buying, Carnivore thought it would be better to go on ebay and buy one with all the little probs ironed out and cans etc bolted on to save money, but Rictus said he knows how much pleasure I take in doing a bike up, so he thought it was perfect to keep me off the road, opposed to buying a minter, as that would tempt and frustrate me far too much ending up with me going out on it in secret! I suppose I have enough time to have a completely standard bike(which is very rare for these) and have it to my spec rather than someone elses.
looks good.

Believe me bump is there! Yeah peep on the Raptor Chapter often, been a backseat viewer for years.
The sidestand is an issue, Matt overcame that by adding a jack up kit, but that alters the handling, I'm not comfortable about YC butchering the sidestand, its an expensive and time consuming task to find a new one if it goes wrong. I do have a Raptor manual on my broken screened laptop, accessing it is errr a tad difficult, and its in German:| If you have one in English that would be most helpful!

You'll be selling the SV now I take it :)

dizzyblonde

whats wrong with the side stand?

Like all Italian sidestands, way tooooo upright, and with extra indicator housings and plastics to think of I don't like the idea of it wobbling in a breeze and falling over. I was always frightened to death of the other wobbling over and crashing through the side of the shed if I touched handlebars when I was moving any of mine!

Ah congrats!

You'll be selling the SV now I take it :)

Yes, going to get it out of the shed next week when Pegs off work, and give it a good scrub and going over with the polishing cloth. Have to wait for YC to come off holiday and find some time amongst his final project time at uni, so he can go over some stuff, as its been stood since Novemeber then when I'm happy it'll be ready to go....I hope!

AndyBrad
15-04-10, 08:51 AM
yea its an english manual. give us an email address and ill send it over. its big tho 20 meg plus!!! might be better popping it over on a cd?

i know what you meana bout the sidestand. its really upright on theflat and it makes the bike look good. however on a slope its lethal and you want to get it looked at asap. can matt help? i could get somone to modify it at work for you but imo yc could do it just as well so long as hes not distracted with tea and such ;)

glad to hear the bumps comming along ok.

dizzyblonde
15-04-10, 08:59 AM
CD would be perfect, where the hell did you find an English version?? I'll PM ya.

Exactomondo about the sidestand! Meh, I'll just get it home first, then decide what to do.
I just found a set of Mivv cans amongst a classified add for a Raptor, its wether the seller will sell seperate. Although carbon sleeved they are a bit special :-)

Happy you are happy.

So you goin to slowly convert it into a RSV-R? Bannan swing arm and all that? :p

much as I love the nana on a Rappie, its a lot of ball ache and hard work that I can't be bothered stressing others to do for me. SO errr no

for now:D

Speedy Claire
15-04-10, 04:01 PM
I had the same problem due to my SV being lowered so much... I bought a second hand stand and had that shortened then fitted to the bike. The orginal one is safe in the shed should the bike ever be made higher.

Could you not do something similar Lou?

dizzyblonde
15-04-10, 04:07 PM
Not likely Claire :-(, all parts for a Raptor are scarce on the ground, I've never seen a sidestand ever for sale.
If one came up, its every man/woman for themselves fighting for parts!

dirtydog
15-04-10, 04:07 PM
how about when you park up, make sure the wheels are on a plank of wood then it'll lean more

would work ok in the shed not so good when you're out though ;-)

dizzyblonde
15-04-10, 04:12 PM
Yep, might be a good idea at home DD.
We'll have more idea when it comes home. This ones mine and I'm already confident with it, funny daren't go near the other one! Bleddy same bike, so why so different.
