With great regret - it is time to pass this bike on to someone else who deserves to ride it. It has served me well over the years including journeys through Europe and Britain. Sadly with a new addition to the family I havent had time to ride it much over the last 2 years (just over 1000 miles) but we did clock up 12500 in the first 2.
Aprilia Tuono 2006 Model. One of the original new models to roll off the factory floor. There are some basic performance upgrades: an Ohlins rear shock, Oz factory rims (the flash lighter versions), R&G crash protectors all around as well as carbon frame protectors, Power Commander for improved fuelling which has been set up on a dyno and professionally tuned by Southern Cross Motorcycles, Piper X fast flow airfilter, standard cans which have been cored (for performance) and they sound awesome, full Aprilia dealer service (once again today), near new sprocket and chain... and a brand new Corsa III rear tyre.
It's not a perfect bike but it is a kick-ass beast which still turns an eye or two as you can see/hear from the pics here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sail-croatia/sets/72157623848639426/show/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/sail-croatia/sets/72157623848639426/show/)
It would be perfect for someone looking for a commuting bike through the summer as well as something that can escape in the weekends and holidays. It does long journeys well and is tame around the city with the fuelling being perfect (sometimes V-twins are lumpy) so can be relaxed when you want to be relaxed.
But - it is a perfromance machine - not for the faint hearted as it can scare you silly and will outperform the majority of rider abilities (but if you are still reading this, you knew this already though right?). The Tuono is a race bread machine without a full fairing. The bike from factory is 1000cc and pushes out around 130hp. 0-60 in less around 3.5 secounds. The Rotax engines have been tried and tested and are bulletproof as any Aprilia forum will tell you. Test rides are fine with valid insurance and cash on the table.
I want £4750 ono for it - read £4500.
