I am very pleased with National Express. My daughter was due to fly home from Scotland last night but of course her flight was cancelled. So had to look at other options. First choice - the train. a one way ticket from Glasgow to London came in at a hefty £120. Thought I'd try the buses and was pleasantly surprised a bus from Glasgow to London one way came in at £20. Bus takes an extra hour but she will not have to get on and off 4 times like the train. only extra will be the travel sickness pills she will need to buy.

Blimey, Glasgow to London for 20 bucks is a bargain at any time, let alone now when they could be hiking the price. Think how much the fuel would cost to drive it.

Well in my car it would be around £60-90 depending on how heavy my foot is

I still think we should've left her up there ;)

That'll teach her for not passing her test ;)

salt into the wound there Stu. Saying that I was a bit relieved when she did fail, was not keen on her driving to Scotland a week after passing her test. She is now planning driving up in the summer instead, dont blame her wouldnt want to be stuck in the car with Jess, Connor, Libby and Adam either

Trains are not good at short notice, but Virgin do a direct Glasgow Central to London Euston service that takes about 5 1/2 hours (city centre to airport, 1 hour check-in, 1 hour flight, baggage reclaim & back to city centre, that time competes with the plane!). If you book in advance it can be as cheap as 17:50 each way.

she cant read on the bus or she will puke. she has got a ton of sweets and her ipod. she is used to doing the journey in the car - alexandria to guildford 450 miles approximately 6 times a year for 3 years. once off the bus she gets train to clapham then to woking then to aldershot. she will be leaving balloch at approx 8am and arriving into aldershot at about 11pm. then up for first day back at college next morning lol

Glasgow to anywhere for any amount of money is worth considering.

Glas she's ok KK.
My daughter is stuck at Gatwick airport and is desperate to get home to Glasgow. I'll recommend National Express to her.
I'll say 'hello' to sunny Balloch for you tomorrow! Dx:cool:

Hey Missus Woman! If that's what it will take to get you back on a bike ...

I'm sure we could find something similar down here - please describe

Well it needs to be about 8 miles long, with cliff face on one side and water on the other, lots of ups (enough to get both wheels off the ground) and downs and a drain cover on each landing "zone", divers with flippers waddling accross the road, sheep wandering along the road, ice in the summer, oncoming HGVs and coaches. That's about all I can remember about it now ;)

You forgot the streams of mud and gravel that wash across every time it rains.

Ah yeah, see I knew I would forget about something but in my defence it has been a while since I rode it. Last time I rode it was 2-up on the Raptor :pale:

We both forgot the most endearing thing for a twisty rollercoaster - it has to be single track!

Forget it Stu, there is no road in England to match it.

The last time I rode it I managed to hit 80mph at one point - now that's an achievement! I wasn't worrying about the manholes in the landing zone that day, 'cos at several points I thought my landing zone was in the loch!

As for riding it 2-up, I took Sandrine up it once, she didn't like it very much :-)

80mph bloody hell that is going some. Most I managed was 55mph. Bex was pillion once and was fed up flying out the seat that she decided to tuck her feet under the pegs - forgetting that they flip up, silly girl. I just loved the road, and it only being 20 min from my front door helped. If I had an hours freedom it was out onto bike quick blast up A82 alongside Loch Lomond, over the military road, lovely smooth 100mph + corners, down to side of Gare Loch and along wibbly wobbly. stop at pit stop for a pee. back on bike and do same route in reverse. back home and in the house in under 1 hour with a huge huge grin.

I wanna go ride/fly. :(

Last few Ecosse Poss saunters on it have been with the road being sopping wet. :pale:

Well... thinking about it, it was a Pointy digital speedo indicated 80mph, which means it was only about 72.
