Hi,

Im tweaking a course I run and I could really do with some photos of bits of bikes you have seen. Especially relating to MOT testable items

Im looking for things like:
Badly worn discs/pads
Dodgy tyres
Rotten frames
Nasty repairs
Bodge jobs etc

The bits Im currently using are mostly based on cars so Id like to use bike ones. Ive tried google images but its difficult to finds decent stuff.

I also need owners copyright permission to reproduce them etc

cheers
Matt

THere is a pic of a broken chain link in my profile. (tried to show it below so fingers crossed it'll work).

I dont know if its any help or not but its there if you want it.
Mechanic fitted a new chain and sprocket kit, he also fitted a split link rather than a rivot. It'd only been on about 2 weeks when I came to lube the chain one morning before setting off to work and noticed a big gap in the chain.
If the pic shows, you can see how the tension has caused teh link to splay as its been slowly pulled apart.

I remember that happening, I think it was some bloke off londonbikers. as far as I remember, he had the front wheel power coated and the process weakened the structure of the wheel.

Some good pics, thanks for efforts so far.

Its hard to explain what Im after, so harder to find through google.

Imagine you're an MOT tester, have seen all sorts, and then you see somethins that shocks you, makes you laugh, whatever, its so bad/comical/unbelieveable/weird that you want to take a picture of it.

Ive got a couple of the car pics I use to try and illustrate the point.

I should be nipping to my local garage at some point this week I'll try take a snap of some moron's brake pads they have hung up on the counter.
He tried to cliam a caliper under warranty as he suddenly noticed there was a problem with his brake when loads of fluid was coming out of the caliper.
He had managed to wear piston shaped holes through the backs of the pads.

Finally got to the bike shop.
This scooter was booked in with an 'oil leak'.
There was brake fluid ****ing from his caliper.
Brakes must have been squealing for weeks!

Nope, I shat thee not fair knight of the spanners.

Bloke said he's had them worse; snapping above where the top of the worn hole in the pictured one is leaving just a couple of loops and an ajoining bar between the pins. He said he regrets becoming a peugeot dealer! Attracts some right ****wits.
