If any of you are thinking of going for a ride up round Brecon any time soon, please be aware that the local fuzz are having a bit of a blitz on small plates, loud cans etc. I had a message from Alex (Xan173) the other day to tell me he'd had a "chat" with the law and came away £60 lighter.
You have been warned!
Ta for the heads up Nick ... :salut:

The same is happening in Sussex at the moment, my friend was on the A27 to Worthing and got pulled and given a £60 fine for a small plate.

I would second the "heads up". We were out across much of mid wales at the weekend and the police were out in force. There were a number of unmarked / marked cars on the A470 going South towards the start of 1000 sheep road. At the time they had pulled another car so were busy!!!!!
Woop really looking forwards to my weekend in wale this weekend now lol my exhaust is not the quietest but look like the baffle in and isn't stamped so we shall see.

what drew said went out Sunday loads of police about, not causing to much bother though at aber bus station.
e marked cans - but missing baffles = :smt102
What do you reckon any chance I could get a £60 fine for that?

Presumably £60 because he got fined for more than one thing?
I thought loud cans/visor and other minor offences were £30 fines...although I did hear of small plates going upto £60 recently.

The fine for each offence is now £60.So it can be a dear day out now if the plod is so inclined to stop you.Only consolation no points YET.

My mistake, I thought they had all gone up to £60 but apparently the man that should know says £30

Plate = £60 no points
Exhaust = £30 no points
Visor = £30 if the have the Tint Man device (or similar that measures light transmission)
Pete
Unfortunately it seems that bolt holes for baffles can catch you out.

Me and orose got stopped (by one of the inspector sorts I assume as it was a targetted operation) because they heard orose from a few counties away yet had a good look at his track only race pipe and let him off. I'd been pootling yet they ticketed me for mine as it had a hole for baffle fitment (my stupid fault as I'd got concious of setting off car alarms and drilled this hole the week before!).

They were Brecon side of the mountains (Libanus?)

Confirmed by the resident federals.
For this weekend I'll trust Mr Luckypants superior judgement of selected less policed roads and hide behind Binkys bike :P

The police can also issue you with a £60 fine if your number plate does have the BS mark or the plate makers address and post code regardless if its the correct size etc. They where handing tickets out like sweets near Sherburn in Elemet (Squires) not so long back. My little plate stays in the garage now. Only goes on at shows etc

Was out for 7 hours yesterday, hardly any presence whatsoever. One traffic car came for a slow drive thru of Aber bus station, other than that saw one local Heddlice in a small village on a B road.

Why then?
