Arranging my stag do and it looks like we're heading to an activity centre in Llangollen doing some quad biking and rafting.

The dilemma we're stuck with at the minute is where do we stay, we need to be able to go out an get more than tipsy on the Friday and Saturday also a special request for some lap dancing lady fun.

People of the area unit and inform me of where around there has a good nightlife and cheap accomodation.

The only options for night out/getting drunk really will be Wrexham. Chester is possible if you get a mini-bus taxi. LLangollen is not really a big night out sort of place.

As for places to stay, that depends on whether you want to be able to just walk to a night out or take taxis. Give us a steer?

If you are going rafting, DO NOT go rafting at LLangollen, it is short and crap. Water levels are really low at the moment so walking down the river is more exciting! Go to the Canolfan Tryweryn near Bala, 30 minutes drive from LLangollen -water is guaranteed by dam release and is much better anyway.

When Kayla and I went to meet Pants on one of our weekends in Wales, he told us to go to this place Matt, it looked a lot of fun, there were people out whilst we were watching too, it looked reallllllllll good.

+1 Mile end mill is a bit rubbish, infact completely rubbish at anything other than spate.

Plus the fact that Jimmy Jayes and his new partner at White Water Active are complete fecking shiesters.

On another note when we trained in the area we used to rent an awsome house/bunkhouse on the Hill south of the river. It has room for about 40 people, a lady dorm of 20 and a mans of 20.

It also has a pool table, table tennis and dart board. I'll try and find the details, right spooky place. It literally 1 minutes walk to the resturants and pubs.

I went on a stag do in Oswestry last year and for a very small place, it is a surprisingly good night out.

Wrexham isn't the best place for a night out, although there are plenty of watering holes there. I lived between Mold, Chester and Wrexham for about 8 years and after trying all 3 on (too) many occasions I'd say get into Chester.

Personally, if its somewhere cheap and cheerful you're after I'd pick one of the activity centres further into Snowdonia, there used to be a good one near Llanwrist, and stay over in Llandudno. Extra hour and a bit to travel but another option.

Awsome LP, thats exsactly what sort of stuff I want. :D

It'd be handy if we were to stay as close to the nightlife areas as possible, that way the day out is the excursion and not the other way around.

Llandudno is that a good night? does it have all the appealing factors a stag do requires?

I think the only place that will have lap dancing ladies will be Chester. Wrexham certainly did not, but has a seamier side (I drove taxis there after being made redundant a few years back) if that floats your collective boats. You are less likely to have a fight in Chester than Wrexham too. TBH Chester, while more expensive, will be more geared up to stag parties. LLandudno has plenty of facilities for a good night out, but the clubs are a bit tired and sometimes it can be eerily quiet, as if everyone has decided to go elsewhere for the night! I can probably answer questions about all your locations so far as I have personal experience of them all and family in most.

That rafting place you recommended Mike looks mint, spoke to one of the lads and he recons if we sack off the 2nd activity and then stay in Chester we could do a casino or something in the evening then its not really costing people a fortune if they dont want to spend it.
It does however mean we'd be travelling over on the Friday, having a night in Chester getting up and spending another hour travel to go rafting then the same back to chester .

Does that sound like a good plan?

yeah having spent many weekends between llangollen/bala/mile end mill area of wales from years of canoeing, if your looking for a decent night out with pubs/clubs etc.... you'll need to head to chester/wrexham. the places in wales near the activity centres are big villages/small towns, so mainly just pubs in the area.

if your spending the money to go rafting def go to trewryn centre as said before it has a dam release for the water. mile end mill is practically flat and it'll be proper low and much more rock bashing than 'white water'.

Accomodation is now booked in Chester, we've got £90 per person for the weekend including parking/bed and breakfast adn free guestlist entry into Roses (I assume thats a night club)

I've called the white water place, and the only availablity they have is for 3/4 rafts at £320 per raft for 2hrs from 4.30pm on the Saturday :( that doesnt really fit into what we'd be looking for becuase by the time we're back in Chester and heading out we'd be looking at it been closer to 9pm and we'd have nothing to do in the morning (cant drink etc if we're rafting in the afternoon).

Any other activities/adventure stuff which can be done around the Chester/North East Wales area.
All suggestions welcome although we've agreed that Paintball and Go-Karting are out of the question along with anything like climbing or absailing - I dont do ropes + height.

Skip the activities stuff and go to the races and then out in Chester. The early May meeting at Chester is great (live on Channel 4 with all the top jockeys, Dettori etc). Plus Chester is buzzing in the evening after the races. Oh and +1 for the Platinum Lounge, did this after the racing for my brother in laws stag do (allegedly ;))
