Hi all,
New to this forum and sadly as yet not a rider in my own right - though I'm told a good pillion!! :)
My other half (not going to give him the ego boost by saying better!!) uses this site & said I should get registered...... sookie.
I'm actually in a bit of a bind and was wondering if anyone could help?
Grant (a.k.a. sookie) has been taken into hospital this week :( (nowt bike related!) and his wee SV's due its MOT on Tuesday.........
I know this is incredibly cheeky but is there anyone in the Edinburgh area who might be able to help me out getting the bike over to Saltire Suzuki??
I'll pay....... cash or beer whatever is preferred!!!!
Understand if no-one's able - I know it's a big ask!!!

Check with them if it's Ok to leave it there for a few days, if so I could get it there tomorrow / Sunday for you..?
A wee excuse to take a run up the Beeftub road this weekend would be fine by me!
(PS - no payment required!)

I wish I could help as I'm in Edinburgh and free on Tuesday, but I haven't got a van to take it in and I have no bike insurance at the moment to cover me on other peoples bikes. Sorry

I'm pretty sure you can arrange for them to collect it, depending on distance or whatever. Might be a bit short notice, but I'd phone them to find out, they are usually more than happy to help out with stuff like that.
SALTIRE PHONE NO: 0131 478 6661

Saltire will collect, should be free if quite local.
Cant do tuesday but like James if they'll hold it for a few days could possibly ride it in over the weekend at some point.
Check with saltire and post back up if you're stuck.

Sorry it's taken so long to reply folks!! been running back & forward to the hosp all day & not long in - just got the sprogs to bed.
Thanks for the replies - hugely appreciated!! :D
On yer bike - bit p'd off on that one! His last insurance policy said anyone could ride it with a valid licence blah blah blah - this years (same company) says just him - but it was a straight renewal. grrrrrr. Thanks for the offer tho!
James/Kilted - I'll phone Saltire in the morning & check out if they do collections. I did mention it but 'Craig' didn't seem too sure. If they don't/can't I'll ask about leaving it early n I'll get back on here first thing - if you dinae mind? Only thing I'd worry about is if the bike'd be safe sitting for a few days.
Sorry about all this - know I sound like I'm being a bit thick about it all!!!
As much as I'm loathed to admit it - some things are better left to the man of the hoose! hehehehe

I know they do collections and deliveries, its more if they have space at this notice. But I'm sure they will accommodate if possible

Dont worry about it being safe there. once you hand them the keys its their responsibility and covered by their insurance.
When you call saltire, mention that the org said they did collections, they get a lot of business from us and usually provide an excellent service. It cant do any harm.

Cheers people. All help and advice is greatly appreciated - especially as my head is mince at the mo!

Anytime Jenny. Glad Grants bike is all sorted now. First time i've ridden a Curvy and I must say am impressed. Throttle is smoother than my SV all bikes should have good old carbs :o The homemade custom rear foot brake was a nice touch
Cheers for the good comments folks and Jen it was really early in the morning was typing with one eye haha :D
ssshhhh Apollo haven't told em bout them burnouts :-)
Hope Grant gets better soon Jenny and hope to see you both on a run soon. Book your CBT now you've got the buzz

Ramjam - def sorting the CBT out - be another nutter on the road before long (I hope!). You think my car driving was a bit quick hehehehehe ;) Saw Grant tonight - says you're a life saver & anytime you're over this way you're more than welcome to stop in.
Can see the point of the running for Government - but trust me, it'd swallow your soul eventually!! LOL
Nah, no burnouts - treated sookie's baby with TLC!! Very reserved.... there's clearly a bit of a dark horse there somewhere tho - maybe catch him on a ride out soon eh ramjam?!
And Saltire - those boys are absolute stars!! Bent over backwards for us. Brilliant - Two Wheels won't be getting near the bike again!!!
Thanks again folks. Will be kicking around here no doubt.

I can't even count the number of times the org has come to my rescue or done something utterly fab for me.
Including not whisking me off down a secluded forest track or bundling me into a transit van the first time I met you - eh KG? ;) LMAO.

glad to hear it. get well soon.
Probly due to the drugs n stuff rattling around my erstwhile empty head but the thoughts and actions of you guys brought a tear to eyes of the sookie fella. A big up to the ram jam for his kindness and good actions. The mighty org does it again. Rubber side down and shiny side up keep on forever spreading the love, sounding like a bloody hippy now but man hugs and shoulder thumps all round.
Sookie.
