To my surprise I have been awarded a pay rise, I do feel like I have earnt it but had resided myself to the fact that there is no money this year anywhere..So very grateful and surprised.

I thanked the director and merilly carried on about my way.

the next day I cheerfully ran Catherine's car to the mechanic to have a vibration fixed, a little Y reg 1.2 16 v Auto which had been serving here well for 2 and a half years now,

Outcome.. Both drive shaft inner CV joints shot, because the gearbox output bearings from the diff are bolloxed.....

thats a £1400 repair bill on a £1500 car which is due and MOT in a month...

Thats the payrise and some blown on replacing the car then....

still... easy come.. easier go...

:)

Better to have the extra money to cover the cost (this year) ....

Well done ...

Lucky you, ive had to take a 20% paycut this year with no sign of that going back up for at least a year and possibley might face redundancy.

12.5% for me june last year...no sign of ever getting it back. Ironically I am run off my feet and dont have enough time in the day to do the workload that I am currently working with. Car policy has also changed to complete crap car and crap mileage rate all in the name of the environment.

I am earning the company 600% my salary now and getting nothing in return.

The partners have been buying some very nice new cars though, which completely go against the nice new environmental car policy.

Woo and yay for the pay rise! :-D

Crap about the car! :-(

I've just found out today I'm getting a 10% pay rise effective 1st May :-D..... so say I've been high or day is an under statement! ;-) Long over due from the extra work I took on last june!

Sorry about the pay cuts others are taking, that's crap news :-(

great stuff..

I didn't know weather to post re the pay rise with the current environment, I do know I am very lucky and was desperately hoping to get some money in the bank as a back up, not as likely to happen now. Still Very gratefull for everything.

Nice one on the pay rise. It's not something heard often in the current economic climate. No pay rise for me but I did get a bonus (Waitrose yearly bonus for partners ;))

Yes my Director bought himself a £100k Merc SLK about 3 months before they decided we had to take the paycut.
