Anyone seen this.
Am i right in saying the newspaper has decided to destroy a mans carrier to sell newspapers?

If the allegations are unfounded or can't be prove he is on a winner. Proir to the opening of the final there was some sort of report on the telly but I didn't hear it.

read it yep
as for destroying his career-i didn't see anyone twisting his arm in the video, he and his manager were pretty forward when it came to how to take the payment without raising eyebrows-end of the day he's been set up but it would have been just as easy for him to say no thanks i'm not interested, then report the matter to the appropriate people.Just a greedy wee scheme boy who has forgotten the vast riches that he has made out of snooker.

It does seem odd though that he would entertain losing a game for 250k with all the risks to his career and reputation when he can legitimately earn similar amounts for just playing to win?

wasn't for losing a game, just certain frames-seems you can gamble on individual frames now.

If it all is true we it bad for the game, snooker doesnt need this.

I see.Doesnt look good
I'd like to know if there was more to it that wasn't shown in the film. Did the Newspaper people threaten them, or act in such a way to intimidate them into thinking "lets just play along and get the hell out of here" as Higgins has said. We'll probably never know for sure. If they are innocent though, they should have reported it to someone...but would that have looked just as bad?
On another note, can a player really give a rock solid guarantee that he'll loose a certain frame? I don't follow snooker closely enough to know.

latest out today is that his manager(the guy mooney) had three meetings with these guys in Edinburgh in the weeks prior to them traveling out to Ruski land-says it all about money and stardom nowadays.
The thing I dislike about these sort of stories is that the newspapers (if you can call them that) purposefully seek these people out and put them into situations of scandal...ric0ckulous.

I'm not that convinced that he is guilty although I haven't seen the video. I hope that he is telling the truth.

I know what you mean mate but when your in the public eye there's gonna be people who will try and stitch you up-he has basically been given the rope
he is a silly silly boy and will regret it for the rest of his life, but... unfortunately, he isnt the first and he wont be the last.

So he loses his job as "Mister Snooker".I bet he has already made more than enough money to retire on.A bit like the bankers or any other overpaid dips*** they dont really suffer much when they screw up.
