... that's Yamaha YBR 125 for those of you getting excited hahaha. Nicknamed José (from the licence plate), we are getting on just fine, love him to bits :D :D :D

The exhaust painted black to keep off the rust for a bit till I can afford a new one lol.

And the cause of a whole day's faffing about, the spindle rusted so badly it fused to the casing bit and had to be drilled out  I love my boyfriend

I did, went on a couple of rides on it and YC was worrying about the front brakes on it, they're so worn and crap it's untrue...other stuff too though. So we found a better bike fairly locally and wahey, all is much better. The luxuries of having a rev counter, I'm finding it a great help with gearing :D

As for the knee, well that happened 2 seconds after trying out the YBR for the first time. Had to pull out of our drive (RH bend) and the clutch was unbelievably loose. I wasn't comfortable with it at all, and lo and behold I mess up the turn, bounce up the kerb and find a lampost swiftly heading in my direction. Ended up[ grabbing the front brake (mentally thinking i am NOT going to crunch into that lamppost) and stopped right in front of it, locking the front in the process and slowly dropping it. Just banged my knee in the process. It looks worse than it is though. I like bruises, they go pretty colours haha :-D

bad luck as well, got of lightly though! :thumright:

Oh now that suits much better than the CG :-)....naming it already??,
YC will be disappointed when you start doing the woman 'emotionally attached' thing :-)

As for the rust, I never thought I'd see anything on a bike rustier than Suzy's old shock.....that swingarms on a whole different level!!

Nice one, you suit that bike much better!

I'd imagine it feels a bit more stable too? You sit more in it rather than on top of it?

Wadaya mean 'woman'!? I'm a manly man (hurrrrr) and I love my bike to bits!

And YBR's are good little bikes, I passed my Mod 1 on one of them. Fun few days training blasting through the Surrey countryside on it. Fantastic little learner bike, and a lovely fart-in-the-bath exhaust. Hope she does you well and you have a long, happy time together!

Yup that is original swingarm, thought "oh that needs a lick of paint", then put my finger through bottom of it... best change that then!

The swingarm spindle was welded into the frame too, went to great length of time trying to get the swingarm off intact before going "well it's f*cked anyway" and giving it some stick with the angle grinder, then the gas torch, then a sledgehammer, then a bloody big drill, then a bigger hammer, then the gas torch AND the bigger hammer. Then it came out no problem :)

It is 05 but looks like it has been somebodys winter commuter as it did not have L plates and has done 18k mile. Engine sounds sweet as a nut though.

It's an '05, the swingarm has been replaced now, and the front sprocket :) I had a good old scrub of the chain and also the exhaust, had to wire brush all the rust off so it could be painted

(Am really only doing it to wind him up heehee)

And yeah the rust was a little scary, good thing YC had a look really!

Another Ysmaha rider. They're the best don't you know. :)

I can well believe it ;)

A LOT more stable. Still getting buffeted by the wind but I can power through it now at 50mph so feeling much better about it :-)

I've noticed it pops and farts a lot, love it :D Sounds like Chris's SV does sometimes, just not quite as loud hehe.

And it's a he btw ;-) :-)

Eeep! I was lucky, I would have been absolutely mortified had I crunched the front at slow miles an hour opposite the house after sitting on the bike for 5 seconds lol!

I suppose the 125's are budget learners but would expect a little more longevity ;)

Usual crap, 20p worth of hammerite would have knocked that failure back by another 5 years if it had been applied 3 year ago...

Cool bike MYC, your smile says it all. :D

My Honda is a boy too, although I am not sure what message it sends out if we keep taking our little boys out for a ride. I think the wife might get worried! ;-)
