Me and the missus decided to take the little guy across to 'The Deep' in Hull this morning.

On the drive across the M62 we saw 2 large groups of Hogs, one group of GS', many solo riders and a group of old brit bikes coming in the other direction.

All of this during a monster downpour. And the temp gauge in the car was reading about 7 degrees.

Bloody monsoon. Could see the bikers hunched against the rain. Imagine the hog riders were thinking 'all that chrome polishing and saddle bag dubbining down the pan...'

So to anyone who had their bank holiday ride ruined by our lovely British Weather, well done for keeping on, lets hope there is better to come.

I went out for a blast yesterday and got stuck behind a gaggle (or is it a bandana? :smt081 ) of HOGs, mostly old guys with portly wives, riding bikes that sounded like they should be quick, but were pitifully under the speed limit and trundling along, while my own lovely sounding V-Twin was a whisper at that speed.

I can't really claim to like H-D, I think it is the buying of an image that goes with the bike. Back in my early twenties when I was first getting into bikes, the local bike club had a few HOG members and seeing them turn up at rallies with the bikes in the back of a van, so they would not lose the show winning polish, made me realise that I am at another end of the bike spectrum to most of them. :smt077

Anyway, the HOG rally that was down here left this morning, local shop keepers are now cleaning up the mess and debris. You would be amazed at the carnage caused by a load of semi retired bank managers fighting over the last tube of Autosol! :laughat:

I know, only just passed my test and already a bike nazi! :smt025

Still enjoying your SV then?! Good on ya :thumright:
I agree though, what is the point of having a bike if your only gna polish it and never take it out the garage!

In agreement with you Jayneflakes. Aside from 'normal' level of cleaning, bikes are for riding. Not polishing. But still could not help feeling sorry for the poor buggers.

Not 100% sure on the collective noun for HOGs, but think bandana is probably the one, brilliant. Or given the corpulence of a significant number of HOG riders, perhaps a 'wobble' of HOGs. Anyway, enough bashing fellow bikers....

Yeah, always feel sorry for any biker you see in the rain. Its not a good feeling

P!ssed it down at Oulton yesterday afternoon/evening. After about 7 miles of wet weather riding out of the circuit with loaaaaads of bikes it was blue sky and sun, so was nicely dried out when i got home :D

Not my thing, Hogs. If I was going to buy a tractor I'd make sure it had all four wheels.

I don't mind a bit of rain, but I don't like a monsoon.
