- Secondly I can only assume the eel was dead (unless he passed out on a fishing boat and his mates caught one and shoved it up there whilst it was still flapping about = add another 'seriously' to point 1), which means I can't see how it 'devoured his bowels'. Im sure people have had much thicker things shoved up their battys.
