Well I sold my old er5 so I dropped him off to his new owner on Sunday morning then went straight down the A1 to collect my new (to me) bike..

So have gone from this.....My 1999 ER5 with nearly 60,000 miles on the clock

Noooo no more fairings! Thats enough for me, prefer naked really but I quite like the bikini style - just not full on fairings.

Yeah Dizzy, she is safe now haha ;)

ooohh she is luverly :smt007 ooh and I have already spotted a dark double bubble screen I think might look quite nice on her lol.. Im thinking of getting a scot oiler on her too, have been told its a good idea to get one.

This is me -----> :smt060  I have got a photo of her as my wallpaper now, so I can see her even when im on the pooter!! hehe Yeah I know I am a sad git lol

Could be worse Muddi, when you find you are saying hello to her when you finish work in a morning, pat its bum, talk to it when cleaning the downpipe, hugging it, sitting on it and making brum brum noises cause you can't play out on her

......then you are a sad git ;-)

elbow grease, elbow grease!
Go to Asda and get a bottle of Barkeepers friend.
http://www.granite-care.co.uk/articles/wp-content/uploads/bar-keepers-friend.jpg
Mix a load up into a sloppy paste, and wack it all over the downpipe, and beggar orf for a cuppa. Next get a wet green scourer, and scrub it, warning this does get messy...and very brown and sludgy. This stuff brings the initial mankycrap off. Smells nice though. Rinse it off well.
Depending how good it brings it up, you then need to get some wet and dry with grades from 240 -1200. Work down the grades,240 first, by 1200 starts to make it shine. Then with some fine wire wool and Autosol polish it up.
Every now and again I get a duster and wrap it round a sponge with the scourer on top, covered in autosol, wrap it round the pipe and seesaw it round the pipe, when it starts to get spots on it. Then wire wool and autosol too.

mmmmm shiny!

ever so slighty Ian ;)..

ooh I have now got a nice black double bubble screen so that will be going on once it arrives. Looking at maybe changing the clutch and brake handles to maybe black or carbon look, but the jury is still out on that one.

But I deffo want a nice yellow seat cowl for when I am not taking a pillion out.

I think I have got the bug - never bothered to modify the er5 apart from screen and luggage rack and that was purely from a practical point of view!

oooh yeah and I will need a rack in the near future too! :D hehe.. But thats it - thats all I am doing to her!!

ooh apart from maybe fitting a scottoiler and maybe heated grips too. Just need some more money now!!
