my lovely wonderful husband, who after a year of looking for a job birmingham way since we moved up here for my work and having to stomach a 45 mile commute each way a day to work, has landed his dream job with the benefits to go with it to!

Hiya all, thank you soooooooooo much for the congrats.
The role is what is classed as "middle office". Basically, the fund managers / traders place Derivatives trades in whichever market they are making them world wide, my job will be to assist the front office in monitoring the trades from inception through to final settlement. Any issues that arise throughout the life cycle of the trade would need to be managed and dealt with by the team of three I will be working with.
Its a brilliant opportunity as will give me the chance to have exposure to the front office, trading platforms, settlement, clearing and custodian issues. So pretty much the entire investment lifecycle.
As Lily said, means no more long commutes, better money, plus the added bonus of working for one of the leading investment banks.
To say I am chuffed is an understatement!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Drew...they wouldn't have offered you the job if theyt didn't see your potential. No one works for institutions like this one to just stay at one level, so you'll get all the experience you need and you'll get trading sooner than you know hun.
