Had a phone call from BT yesterday offering me BT Vision HD Box with ALL channels (films, kids, music, sport..) for £19.99 a month.
Im currently paying £19 for Sky+ with just basic channels and kids.
Haven't heard much about BT's service. Anyone else swapped or have an opinion on it. I'm quite happy with Sky but the extra channels are appealing.
Your comments please.... Ta x
There all much of a muchness. One of my mates has gone to BT and rates it highly.
With that deal, bearing in mind Sky would charge another £30 squids for that package, I'd say go for it.
how long does the BT offer last before they downgrade you or charge you more?

I think only condition is you have phone or broadband package with them. Ive had their broadband for 6 months with no problems
BT are the devils ballbag of companies, at least **** Turpin had the audacity to wear a mask before he robbed you, those theiving fecking scumbags at BT were helping themselves from our bank account to the tune of whatever they felt like charging us on a monthly basis, it took 10 e mails, 4 letters and endless phone calls to get them to change our address from which we'd moved from 10 months earlier, so not only were they charging us for our old address, but our new one too, yet they seemed to always tell us that we have no recollection of you moving home..."THEN WHY THE FOOK ARE YOU CHARGING ME FOR 2 ADDRESSES, DO YOU WANT A F**KING INVITATION TO MY NEXT HOUSE WARMING SO YOU CAN CLARIFY THAT I HAVE MOVED!!!!
Bunch of Charlie, Uniform, November, Tango's!!!
May the hairs on their ar$es to turn drumsticks and beat the shoite out of them.

Currently with Sky for everything, £21 a month and thats free broadband and free evening weekend calls, not had a problem with them yet, but at least i can understand their call centre people more than BT's.
Jockanese is far more easier to understand then Urdhu or whatever the bloody hell dialect they waffle in :smt097

:D:D:D:D Stop being diplomatic and tell us what you really think.
Also, I have a feeling Bt vison has to always have a direct line to your router, which can be a pain sometimes!

We don't have Freeview yet so I can't take up the BT Vision option. Boo.
Interesting that you think BT are like that Cuffy as I have the same opinion of Sky. My "free" broadband has been going up and up in price for the last year and another letter from them last week said it was going up yet again. Time to shop around again methinks.

+2 for horrific service & charges from BT...
but the deal sounds good. If you're not planning on ever leaving BT in future, go for it. It's a soul destroying experience dealing with BT's customer service guys trying to transfer your number to a new property in another area code.. Spent 1hr 15 on the phone, about 35 mins of that on hold, then the rest of the time being put through to random departments and explaining the situation to about 4 different people...
£125 to activate the line in property #1
paid for full broadband, linespeed turned out to be 0.5 mb/sec
6 months later moved to york, was originally told it wouldn't cost to take the deal with us as we had already paid £125 connection fee
£125 to get line activated in new property...
rang virgin media, £30 to start a deal with them, full speed broadband and outstanding customer service..
different for everyone though so if it fits your needs and budget, do it :D

Nice on 6th man, Just dont try leaving virgin... I can send you a copy of the letters.
Not a nice time, very frustrating and they were actually quite intimidating. Couldnt be happier with Sky, this thread jus promted me to call them to see whats what with my bills etc and they've just looked at everything and knocked it down by £7.50 +plus what ever I've been paying BT for the line rental by moving my phone package over to them.

virgin have been great in york.. called them about the receiver box being faulty, a guy turned up about 55 mins later and replaced it without any fuss.
Called them to ask about what offers they've got on for valued customers and they've done discounts on the spot without much of a fight..
Only thing I am a bit miffed about is that I applied online for a v+ box so I can record the BSB and WSB amongst other things - email confirmed date that it would be installed but I've heard nowt from them and not been billed for it. I should get my finger out if I want it but I've been putting money towards srad brakes :)

Yep, have checked this out because my hub is in a different room to the tv but apparently you plug an adapter into the mains in each room and the relevant cables into the adapters so it shouldnt be a problem.
Still undecided....
