My cousin Kieran has just become a doctor. This is a lad who, aged 11 found his dad dead after killing himself in the family car in the garage, whose mum became a long term alcoholic and whose little sister died nearly 4 years ago.
He is the true measure of how no matter what happens to you, you can rise above it and do something amazing.
He has decided to stay on and wants to be a surgeon.
I am, in short, incredibly proud of the little boy I've watched grow up all too soon and wanted to share my joy. He is the reason my auntie is no longer severely depressed and no longer drinking and I think he should be an inspiration to everyone.
I love my family, I love Kieran.....that is all x

Aww Congratulations to Kieran! Becoming a doctor is difficult enough without everything he has had to go through in his life! Sounds like he is a total star!
And I love you.....x

Good on him-if ever there was a reason to go off the rails this young guy seems to have had them all-great to see he has made the right choices and will end up saving lives-pat on the back for him.

Thanks Husky. I don't know how he's managed it TBH. He was captain of the cricket and rugby teams all through school as well, got straight A+'s in G.C.S.E.'s and A levels.

Thanks guys. He really is one of a kind and the annoying side of it is that he's not even a nerd. He's managed to be this good academically and in sports and he's just a normal, lovely lad...going out on the pish, meeting girls and being normal.
I need to find something wrong with him before his head gets too big...lol. Just kidding, he's awesome and our family are very lucky to have him as part of it :-)
Ooooh, he's not a biker...there's a fault ;-)

Haha, I sent him a mushy email as he's currently climbing some mountain in the Himalaya and I succeeded in making him very embarrassed lol.
