Close to needing new chain and sprockets after 11K miles.
Have been quoted £130 - £140 for replacement at my local bike garage.
Have looked at full kits on ebay for £75.00.
I am reasonably good at mechanical jobs but new to bikes, so my question is does anyone know of a link for an instructional vid (youtube) etc for replacement of chain and sprockets on a 2003 pointy.
Also is it 108 length chain that i need ?
Cheers.

108 chain yes yours is an s model its 110 for nakeds
and no offence any muppet can change chain and sprockets its simple not that i calling you one :)
you require ,new chain and sprockets, socket set, chain spliter (couple of spanners and flat head screwdriver for clutch adjustment)
step 1, remove clutch arm
step 2, crack front sprocket while chain is still on
step 3, use spliter to break chain
step 4, remove front sprocket
step 5, while using rear paddock stand remove rear wheel and take off rear sprocket
step 6, reattach front and back sprocket
step 7, reattach rear wheel
step 8, attach chain with chain spliter device
step 9, touque everthing up to spec
step 10, reattach clutch arm
step 11, readjust clutch

Try the occasional bit of chain lube on the next one! ;)

How long do chains/sprockets usually last? Is 11k normal?
