Don't you just love it? That feeling of adventure, the mystery, the freedom?!
I feckin don't  Managed to make a complete dog's dooglies of my 30 odd mile trek back from my placement, think I may have done it in twice that, in 3 hours....what's worse, my mobile ran out of battery just as I was in touch with YC for the 3rd time about where I was! Managed to worry him a bit for which I am truly sorry!
Doesn't half make you appreciate those old familiar roads you know so well, so glad to be back safe!
On the plus side though, managed my first ride in the dark fine

No, that would have made me look really stupid seeing as when my mobile rang out I was outside a petrol station :p

I fookin love getting lost. It's brilliant. Sometimes when I'm out on the bike and not in the mood for a blast, I just bimble around the small back roads that I never normally go on, just trying to get lost. Deliberately not looking at the road signs at junctions, and just going where I like the look of. It's brilliant and I always find something interesting.

Get as lost as you like, anywhere in the world. Then just turn it on and go home:D
I NEVER get lost ever, never, never -------------------
*cough* boxhill *cough*
Weird. I've never really thought about getting lost before, or not for loads of years. I just sort of go where the road takes me.
As a young un I'd put a bag on the back of the bike and just set off. And a few weeks later turn up back at home - drove my mum nuts.
Yep, definitely weird. Does not knowing where you are constitute lost, or is it not knowing where you are going? I've always thought I'll get where I want to be eventually so I'm not lost.
you can never get lost on a motorcycle...
as your just doing a recce of unknown roads...... :0)
This is the truth...

A very cheap option to getting lost I had before GPS-----a small stick on[Sucker] compass,at least you know the general direction you want to go and you always come across a main road with signs, then consult your map.
Not such an exact science as GPS,but more fun.
Next phone upgrade get one with GPS and you have two for the price of one.
i get lost everytime I leave the house whether its on raptor, in car, on pushbike, walking the dog. sense of direction of a lemming

Women!
Cant be trusted to find their way out of a paper bag. The wife is useless with directions. but I fixed the eldest daughter. whenever we went anywhere whilst they were kids, I made them follow the route on the road maps. she soon got the idea that roads led to places, you don't need to know the road, just where you want to go. and signs generally point you in the right direction.
Usually when I get lost my reserve light has come on - injecting a degree of urgency into the procedings

Exactly. I'm all for going off on a bimble into the great unknown, but when I've had a long day and just want to get home it's a bloody nightmare. The bike was great, not knowing how to get out of the mess i'd got into however was not. As it was, I ended up taking a route to a town recognised and took it from there.

Lol! Even worse, relying on technology, a recipe for disaster ;)

Not knowing where I am I guess. I knew where I needed to go just couldn't find the road I wanted :-(

When embarking on your journey to the destination, take in good notice of every rememberable landmark, then go in reverse.
Thems wimmins directions ;-)

You'll get your sense of direction before long. Blame it on being new and having to concentrate hard ;-)
Before long you'll be able to get anywhere with just a few minor points written down, staring from your tank bag. Easy peasy once you've done a few new far away places :-)

Hey I didn't get two blokes and me down to Bordeaux and back with their sense of direction, not even a roundabout the wrong way :p
I think Peg was surprised the first time I went to visit him, he expected me to be lost somewhere in Cambridge, I told him I would ring him when I got to this certain Homebase store near him....and I did!
