I'm not naming names ...yet....but I sent money via paypal to a person here for an item that has not yet arrived 2 weeks later.
He's got until tomorrow to get in touch before he's named and shamed here...:hackedoff:
you know who you are

I too have had problems with a seller on here, hope it's not the same one! It's probably been over two weeks now and the item has still not arrived! I've sent the seller a PM and also posted on the original thread but still no reply! I even left a visitor's message on said sellers profile which seems to have been deleted!
Well, I'm growing out of patience now and will name and shame too if he doesn't get in touch soon enough.

Not good, hope you haven't been ripped off. You need to report this kind of thing to admin or mods
I've bought two things off Orgers recently and I've not had any probs, both items recieved. So it can work

It does indeed work! To be fair to the seller, I bought a few things off him previously and they all arrived safely albeit it took a while! He was apparently selling my latest purchase on behalf of a friend which is why I've been very patient with him. However the lack of replies to my messages is simply not good enough!

Please dont name and shame, it causes no end of bad feeling.
It would be preferable to report the problem to a section moderator or an admin and we'll do our best to help you resolve the situation.
If you dont get the goods soon, then name & shame the member, contact admin first.Plenty of honest guys here,no point anyone else losing out!;)
I have bought off here before without problems but this time it went wrong.
.
The seller has gotten in touch with apologies for the delay but I no longer trust him.
He originally said the reason for the delay was because it took him so long to find a courier who could deliver to Northern Ireland for an affordable rate and that it was on its way.
Now the story is that he was on holiday and that he was sure someone was going to send it on his behalf while he was away.
I'm properly ****ed off with the guy and I want my money back.
+1
I have been waiting patiently for my exhaust to arrive!
My cheque cleared in their account a month ago :hackedoff:
First reason was they were moving house, now it's the post office's fault.
they took it to the post office, but the post office didn't send it, it was still there when he checked:-?
I don't want my money back, I just want my exhaust.
I,m sure they are a genuine seller, they just need a rocket up their @rse.
If was an ebay transaction they would be getting major negative feedback!
AH HAAA
Exhaust will be with me by thursday. They now have a tracking number :jocolor:

This is what you should be doing if you have a problem.
Any naming ans shaming will be deleted whilst the mods look at what's going on

If you have a problem with the for sale section you need to speak to the section mods and or fizzwheel.
And yes posts have been removed because as far I was concerned they added nothing constructive to the thread.

Still feel that adopting a Ebay like feedback system would be great idea as it helps sellers and buyers and most forums support it i can get info if needs be.

^ agreed althoug it would at least help a bit would it not or has there been other problems with it in the past?
I have just added my ebay feed back page to the bottom of my for sale thread, just to give a bit of cumfort
Always try to pick up items... or deal with only people that are relatively well known and can be vouched for. Although from what I understand that can not always go smoothly either.
I would defo never send money to some random on a website with 20 posts that i've never met and nobody knows.

The Paypal fee isnt very much anyway...for large transaction (for a bike) cash on collection anyway.

Dunno I've traded with relatively new members successfully, someone said the other day there was a moderator that got banned for ripping people off though - so not a foolproof way of evaluating!

All the above are good points you can never tell who will rip you off there is no full proof way. some times it just happends.
The feedback thing is only a simple way that "might" help other ideas im sure would be welcome ... another way could be a few selling rules(stolen from another forum):
) Agree postage terms before sale if you want tracked be prepared to pay for it or collect the item and report to moderators if not met.
) Please make sure your advert contains all the relevant information (price, contact details, Photos).
) Please keep posts on topic. Posts questioning the price or state of the goods could be harmful and can be misleading, this includes linking to other sites to compare prices. Posts of this nature will be removed.
) A seller has the right to advertise at a price they see fit, if you think its too high then don't buy but please any attempts to fill thread with negative comments will result in a ban for you.

Yah heard about that on NWR6, explains why a few people have vanished.
They are the general rules I stick too, but like you say not foolproof because of the above. :(
I have bought a lot of stuff over the last year and must say I have never experienced any problems with the members on the site. All have been very helpful.

I alsoi have purchased items from orgers via this site and never had any problems. The people i have bought from i have never actually met, only chatted to via the org.
Some other sites i use have a rule that new people registering on the site are not allowed access to the sales page until they have accrued 10 or 20 posts on the other pages. I believe this gives people a chance to get to know the site and chat to others. i know that there are some dodgy folk out there but trust is what it is all about when buying or selling.
but trust is what it is all about when buying or selling.
Or rely on Paypal which gives you a refund if it goes wrong.
oops, posts that aren't useful to the thread will also be deleted 8-[
I had problems..paid for item with paypal and never recieved goods, so i just bombarded them with emails and after 3 weeks money was refunded. Not sure about the name & shame!
