For anyone who can't be arsed to read it, I was referring to Hilary Clinton's response to the Korea fuss.
"All out war"
well, she doesnt actually say all out war does she? bit of a paraphrase. yes she said she is short on options in how to deal with the North short of all out war but what are they supposed to do? stand by and watch the North attack the South, as they have already done with one of their ships in March?
And i guess you are trying to be deliberately provacative by suggesting just because she is a woman she should shut up and go make the tea...?
can we not retitle the thread "bigots... know your place..."?

Maggie did a better job than Blair, Brown or Bush.
She got it done.

I was paraphrasing a little, but she has asked for a strong international retaliatory response. They already have nearly 30,000 troops there
Who the **** is she again?! Some wifey of one of the sneakiest ex-presidents around.
I'd need more far more evidence before suggesting war with a nuclear power with a nutjob at the wheel.

As much as I liked Mrs Thatcher, the Falklands conflict had more to do with oil rights than it did sovreignty of the islands
I believe the President she was the wife of is one of the "best" and respected Presidents in a number of years. Granted given that the Bushes were in office for 12 years thats hardly high praise, but she is/as a major influence on Bill and is hugely respected the World over

I think the gap between good wife of a president husband, and being a successful secretary of state is humongous, and she proved lacking in the wife department too! ;)
It's a massive statement to make, and highly irresponsible. Aren't America amused enough with their current wars?

Not sure he was one of the sneakiest. He actually left the country is good state, both economically and in the minds of much of the rest of the world due to his open-minded approach to foreign affairs. Sure, he was open-minded about other affairs but he wasn't that good at being sneaky about them. You can't judge Hilary by judging him.
As for Hilary, she is much more than that. You are forgetting that she is a well-respected politician in her own right, having respresented the people of New York in the Senate for a number of years. She is there because the people of New York elected her. And re-elected her, presumably because they think she does a good job.
She is spoke as US Secretary of State. The President appointed her. She spoke because not only is she entitled to as SoS but because she would have been criticised at home and abroad if she hadn't.
I suspect, too, that she was being honest in the case. How do you negotiate with a country that won't talk to anyone?
And she's nothing like Maggie.

US can't afford to take down N Korea any time in the near future, they've got a scheduled war with Iran to keep Israel and the Jewish lobby on side...

Oh and clearly because she was the wife of a president (who happens to be a man..clearly capable of running the country because...he's a man...) she has no brain and therefore should only be resigned to keeping her husband, the president, the one with the brains...happy??
Hilary Clinton is a higly respected politician, for christs sake, she is the Secretary of State! Not a job given to "any old wifey".
Just because her opinions on how HER OWN country, of which SHE is secretary of state differs to what you think it is not acceptable to imply that she can't do her job because she is a woman.
