Hello all
I got myself a bike on flea bay last weekend. It's in Kent and i'm in Herts. Picking it up might be a problem - the seller is not that available so we're struggling to find a mutual day and time to collect it.
It might be better for me to pay someone with a van to pick it up. Can anyone make any recommendations before I resort to the yellow pages?
Cheers in advance

Is it taxed?

Can you get it insured for 7 days cheap and ask a mate to ride it home for you?

Brilliant- thanks guys. It's good to have a recommendation. I'll check out the companies on ebay as well.
I'm getting an szr 660 and i'm well excited!

i will look out the details of the company i used when i get home.

I bought my bike 3 years in Stafford and had it shipped up to Scotland. I phoned the company on the Wednesday night about 5 ish. Bike was picked up Thursday morning at 11 and I had it delivered Friday evening at 5.

If i remember correctly then it cost me £189. Much cheaper than hiring a van, fuel etc ot getting a train then fuel etc.

get a quote and come back to me or if you cant find anyone i can work the cost out.
i cant work for a couple of weeks so could do with taking the van out for a day and getting out of here :)

06 ZX6R-C6F (636) IN GREEN
ZX7R-P3 IN GREEN AND WHITE (gone to a good home)
05 ZX6R-C1H TRACKBIKE IN AVATAR (no longer with me)

Aren't the C1H and C6F pretty much identical bikes anyway, except K dropped the black and went with blue, or vice versa? They sure look the same to me.

My bike was 88 miles away in Derby.
It wasn't taxed(I'm presuming yours will be), so had to find a Post Office pretty sharpish, naughty naughty really. I'd insured it the week before, and the dealer had the MOT. My other half got on a train, and picked it up for me.

Is there any reason why you couldn't do this?

Thanks guys - i checked out the train but it's a bit of a nightmare to get to. My (brilliant) boyfriend has cancelled his plans for Saturday morning so hopefully we'll get it then. As it's an ebay purchase i'm quite keen to see the bike first so whilst having it delivered was an option i'd rather see it to check it over.
Thanks for the advice. It's good to have some recommendations for the future.

Just a quick update. I picked the bike up on Saturday. It's absolutely great. Not too much wrong with it- it could do with some new tyres and brake discs but that's about it. And it's so much fun to ride, the gear box is really smooth and corners really nicely. I can't wait for the weekend now (hope it's sunny!)

Good fun ain't they, a mate has had one for years. The back end looks like it belongs on a sports scooter though
