Flogging their databases to third party organisations? Data Protection Act stuff more generally?

Sorry - can't be bothered to actually go and watch it!

Well it started off like that, but it seems to be about all sorts of errors.

That guy made us laugh. YES luv, we know how to make a SORN, we just don't know if you can actually be assed to complete it!

I am dreading sending my license in to get the car entitlement. Will be popping off with a photocopy and getting a nice policeman to sign it as genuine before it goes in the post.

Would you trust that guy Chair. If you ask me he was skating so as not to state or to commit to anything. Basically you lost your car to bailiffs due to our fault, but hard luck. DVLA give the local authority information which is incorrect, but it is not the DVLA but the local authorities fault that it is not correct as they should check that it's correct. Talk about wanting it all ways. I hope somebody sues them then they will have to, hopefully, get their act together. Glad that I do all of my transactions with the DVLA on-line so have a receipt. How I hate big brother (the state not the TV programme).

+1, that's why it's being mothballed.

Before they Mothball it, they should invite the DVLA back and ask them to explain selling the old SORN and Tax violations to debt collection companies going back over 6 YEARS.

These debt collection companies are putting the scarers on folks to pay up for the slightest contravention up to 6 years ago and threatening court action immediately if they didn't receive payment.

Smacks of very sharp practice.
