my boy just purchased a new 650 he says he has difficulty in selecting 3rd. I rode it and it selected fine although i have to say going into 3rd its a bit clunky and was not entirlely smooth and i was on low speed roads. In a later conversation with him he said that it goes in at low revs but when the motors is reving harder its difficult. Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon. ATB paul:confused:

Could be clutch drag, but i find 2 is the gear thats usually worst, same symtom the faster the engines turning the more likely it wont slip into gear.
Is finding neutral with the engine on fairly difficult?
I had a similar problem. I think from memory people on here said to oil and check the chain tension. Seemed to do the job. Hope that helps.

120 odd miles I would agree it is not bedded in yet. Old suzukis were worse for that, I put brand new gearbox in my mates GS1000 and it was horrible box for about 500 miles. It got fresh oil at 250 and bit of steel wear was found, more fresh oil at 500 and no wear was seen... I rode bike again after this and gearbox was sweetest you have tried :)
Obviously worth keeping eye on chain and oil all time anyway.
