It's not, but personality typing gained huge popularity between the 60's and 80's (in the workplace) and is still dismissed by many as tree-hugging.

Psychometrics get dismissed by many as being obvious or having no application when in fact it can be very subtle and give valuable guidance on how to interact with people (if you know their personality type too).

But it needs to be done properly. I test as Introversion on MBTI, but I project Extroversion in the workplace.
