Anyone else play it? Im on PC, if you play it on PC my name is ThEGr33k, pretty simple :p

Anyway, for those who havnt played it, a short review;

The single player is pretty ok, I don't think its as good as Modern Warfare single player, so if you are wanting a realistic war shooter just for single player MW 1/2 are probably the better choice.

Multi player though; Bad company 2 woops MW 1/2 all over! Destructable scenery means that places that could be used for camping can simply be destroyed! Fast action, team play, and lack of kill streak perks (which I hate in MW's, why should someone who is winning anyway get a bonus!?) make it a much more enjoyable experience for the casual FPS player and the pro geek as well. You also get pins when you do something well, wether it be killing lots or supporting your team/squad, so you feel like you are achieving something and that your playing is appreciated. There are ways to go up ranks without having to be a kill *****, E.G. supplying ammo, health kits, repairing vehicles can all get big points scores without being particularly great player.

Overall, I think its a great multiplayer experience, you feel like part of a team (unlike others where you are basically a lone wolf with other people in your team) and need to try and work as part of a team to achieve anything, its not just about getting the most kills, although killing is still fun. A very well balanced game, and I wont be playing Modern warfare any more cheers.

It's not bad... until you remember what BF1942 (with Desert Combat or Forgotten Hope mods installed) was.

Singleplayer tells an amusing enough story (and some the animation in the cutscenes is great).

Multiplayer is pretty good except there are some horrendous balancing issues. Going prone was removed because they thought it made snipers too powerful. Well, they still are, and now it's harder to hide from them because you can't go prone! Medics are also overpowered, their LMGs shredding anyone who crosses their path. Base r*ping is rampant and there's no way to prevent this (on the PC you could just vote to kick anyone who did it). The maps are too small so you never really get to appreciate the vehicles properly. And the so-called 'VIP' DLC has been a joke - all the stuff is on the disc already, it's being remotely unlocked by EA!

I'm hoping BF3 will come to consoles and give us back our huge levels, hordes of vehicles and proper balancing. While I've all but finished Bad Company 2 (all but three pins, stars for almost all the guns, all but one achievement) I find myself enjoying it elss and less as all the little flaws eat away at me.

On 360, waiting eagerly for the friends list upgrade cos mine is full :(

Machine guns are very powerful I can agree with that, but the assault rifle is still a better weapon at most ranges imo. Snipers are powerful but generally only on games with the low health option on, and even then you can often out snipe them with an akoban.

I think it would be a bit of an head ache trying to make the machine guns more balanced as you call it, I mean, they are supposed to be powerful, high rate of fire with large amounts of ammo, accuracy should be poor, and that for the most part is how they are... I suppose accuracy should be a little worse though, they arnt far off of assault rifle accuracy.

I agree that there should be a game type with bigger maps, Like a whole rush map to fight over, because as you say generally the maps are a little restrictive. I still really enjoy rush, though I find 16-24 players much better than 32 player. 32 player is just too much really, stick your head up and its pretty much gone :-?

Well, thing is MW does infantry combat better, Battlefield was always about combined arms but with the maps so puny you can't really use vehicles in the support role they should be.

Because they took prone out all those bipods you see on the LMGs (and some sniper rifles) are useless, there should be a huge accuracy penalty to firing one unless you are prone or resting it on a ledge like in Gears 2. And I don't mean like the 'stop and flop' in CoD3 which was perhaps the one balancing issues in that game, you should have to go prone in the normal way in order to properly fire the weapon.

I do like the ARs but find they don't pack enough punch, all too often I run out of ammo and end up just going back to being a Medic because spraying bullets around with the LMG is easier and more rewarding in turns of kills and your own survival.

By 'low health' I guess you mean the 'hardcore' mode? Never bothered with that. You play some maps, like the one on the jungle coastline (with two Blackhawks at the start point for the attackers) and you'll have a cluster of snipers on the little islands out in the bay picking you off as soon as you spawn. Likewise, Atacama is ruined because you get complete t***s camping your base to steal your helicopter and blowing you up as soon as you spawn.

In all honesty Frontlines: Fuel of War was a better game of this type, on the 360 at least. On the PC I'd be playing BF2 or ArmA2 and not bothering with this.

have this on 360. when it first came out i was quite in love with it... however...

now it seems to be full of one man army types that ruins the game play. the idea of the squad is surely to play as one? havent seen so much spawn killing but the stealing helicopters thing is just damn annoying!
the shotguns also seem a little unbalanced. have been killed in one shot by someone across the other side of the map?!?!

there also seem to be so many people that dont use the kits properly. as in medics not supporting with health, engineers mincing around with rocket launchers on their backs instead of going after the armour that is currently raping your team...

still kicks the **** out of COD though!

Haven't played as much recently as I was. It's a good game tho, better than BF2142 was. I'm looking forward to BF1943 on the pc next month.

+1, to all of that, BC2 is good but BF1942 and Bf2 is still way better...... they're trying to make it to much like COD which i hated, they need to go back to the roots

saying that i still think its good, going prone doesn't become an issue when you learn how to hide, i rarely finish a round without 0 deaths :cool:

BF1943 is a disgrace... you take the best maps in the game and take out most of the stuff that made them great (drivable ships, lots of different planes, submarines).

Im in www.nervousenergy.co.uk (have been for like 8 years now) and we are now a bit like that, though the Team fortress side is taking off mega, 5 teams apparently!? We used to play UT2k4 as a clan but when that died down we just played for a laugh in different games.
