...you know, that little place in Spain. Myself and the wife & kids are off to the sunny Costa Dorada in July. At some stage, I will be leaving them soaking up the sun whilst I go to Barcelona, by train, for the day.
In the mighty org's opinion, what sights do you advise that I simply 'must not miss'?

the cable cars and an ice cream at the top, Gaudi park, the front and the marina!
If its just you - grab one of these (http://www.gocartours.es/barcelona/) they are fanatstic andd let you see a lot of the sights and you can stop as and when you want. The scooter mob love them. Well worth it - we done and loved it!!

Camp Nou if you're a footy fan or not...the sheer size of the thing is amazing!

If you are looking for some cool nightlife then I definately recommend nipping down to Port Olympic marina, 5 mins in a taxi from Las Ramblas. There are some 'interesting' bars down there that are well worth a stroll along.

Dont go alone though, you will almost certainly get mugged.

The bars are on the lower level so you could almost walk past them and not notice them at all, well worth a little visit though. On the eastern side of the marina there are some really good seafood restaurants.

Las Ramblas is all a bit tacky for my liking, too many tourists.

This! I had one of those out in Lisbon a couple of years ago. Brilliant fun, and you get to see loads of the city that you wouldn't otherwise... I'm actually in Barcelona next month so will probably get one myself for the day...

Good idea - didn't know they had one.

Park Guell is pretty nice as well. Great views across the city from the top of it.
