View Full Version : Fathers Day Gift Ideas!
Don't want to derail Quiff's thread..
Basically my dads 43, and I need ideas for a gift!
I got him a cartoon drawn of his bike for xmas, was really good, he actually liked a present I got him for once!
So since you old farts are around his age, I need ideas :)
He likes decent brandy, decent red wine, his bike (Triumph Tiger 1050 SE 09'), decent food, doesn't play sports, doesn't have much hobbies and likes being moody and complaining! Jokes, get on with him fine! Also likes biking films, documentaries and decent tv...
But am stuck for ideas this year?
Cheers my loons and quines :)
might seem obvious but what about the wrong way round dvds etc??' ( is that the right title lol) The ones with Charlie Boardman and wotsis face.
Thats if he hasn't already got them of course.
Got them, and the book, and the book for long way down and dvd for long way down too!
Any other dvds, i.e biking dvds similiar to that?

Does he like reading?? There is a book about 2 women who did something like Charlie Boardman etc did - but they were by themselves on an old bike and side-car and it was in the 1950's or something. I think they travelled across Africa or somewhere with lots of sand lol. (its a while since I was told about it)
Its a true story so he might like it, will find out what its called and who its by if you like? Apparently is a really good read. Thought your dad might like it as its factual and about bikes?

OMG I'm old enough to be his dad
Get the book "Stealing Speed". I got it for Chris for Christmas and he loved it. An absolute must for any bike enthusiast.
omg I'm younger than your dad.
+1 but only by 1 year lol
If he likes to read that book is called 'The Rugged Road' and is written by Theresa Wallach.
Might just get it myself actually lol... A proper adventure - not one with teams of back ups helping them out of the crap, and they had to fix their bike themselves as they went along. Im sure if those women had balls they would of been the size of a football!!
