The 3 years NCB I have from car driving, can I use that to insure my SV?

I doubt it, but some people have managed it by speaking to the insurance companies, but I think it's hit and miss whether they will accept them. When doing quotes it usually asks for Bike specific NCB, and I never had any luck trying to get it accepted.

Bit annoying tbh.

Generally no, you cannot use car no claims bonus on a bike policy, or vice versa

But if you call them, some insurers may give you some bike NCB from the outset of your policy

Tha rule of thumb is that NCB is not transferable from car to bike  of visa versa.

Thanks guys, that's a shame.

I'll try it on anyway, squeeze what little discount I can get out of them. I'll let you know if I have any success with it.

Dont know if youve watched Svengalie on youtube, but he was recently complaining because he wanted to insure his quad due to a broken leg, and neither his bike or car NCB count towards it.
If the insurance companies see a way of getting more money out of you, then they will!

I don't think that's completely correct. I used 1yrs NCB I got on my first bike on my car (insurance company said it was fine). Then when I moved back to my bike got that 1yrs NCB transferred back to my current bike policy. So either i've been very lucky or something wrong here.

I believe carole nash accept cars no claims, heard tesco did too but they've swapped to a 'compare' type business plan and let aquote deal with their insurance who are bum pirates.
Always ring up for insurance and speak with an advisor, especially if you require something slightly out of the ordinary - I've always found it hundreds to thousands cheaper.
