Learn how to use your brakes right and HH pads are fine.
Got them on the rear of Suzy, and was warned 'they'll be grabby'... ballsocks! Never had an issue with them. I wouldn't hesitate to put them on the front if they needed to be replaced.
Personal preference.

Brakes are brakes.
Can't be any more grabby than the front of the Raptor surely?, its like having a bike as kid, and you going over the handle bars at a moments notice :-( But then they need stripping and cleaning. However they are much easier to clean theyy don't corrode like SV ones. Four pot Brembos :-) But the rears a **** for doing.

Only time I have had exp with organic is with the mountain bike, they were ok, cant really tell much difference between the stock organic and the EBC HH I have atm in there.
As to grabby, I have EBC HH in my brake's and they arnt grabby. (Can cost a lot though depending on caliper, RRP on mine is £95! Thank goodness for Ebay, £65 :p).

I've put organic ones in the SV, I didn't like how the front ones felt, they were ok on the rear.
Are OEM Triumph pads very expensive or is there something you don't like about them now? If the pads on the Prilia need changing one day I might just buy oem as I like how they perform.
Just replaced mine on the Z with EBC HH sintered, highly recommended! Makes a world of difference, saying that the pads i took off did look like Ryvita's
Used Goldfren HH pads on my SV - but let's face it, SV brakes need all the grab they can get.
They're not grabby in the slightest. HH pads might wear your discs a bit quicker than organic. Organic pads apparently have better cold braking properties (I read this somewhere).

How much thickness do standard pads have?

Hmmm not too sure mate. Better to be safe and change I guess...
the grove is I believe, to help with leading edge, its helps braking performance.

Don't try Rob. He is away for fortnight. Inconsiderate bugger, I need a tyre!
How long brake material lasts is dependant on how much you brake.
I have some used pads for strumpet here with loads left on.

No way is there 8-10mm of material on new pads... look at space in between sides of caliper you f*ckin nuggets.
10mm + 10mm + 5.5mm disc... how big is hole...

It is andybrad he is probably been paranoid about new pads :smt081
I would be happy with anything around 1.5mm pad material for GM3 trip.
Well, of the wear maker is still visible I'd probably do the same.
Can you take the calliper off and post a pic of the pads? Would be much easier to judge than all this 10mm stuff :)

brake pad thickness of the new ebc hh pads (not as good initial bite as the trumpet ones!!) is 5mm backing plate 3mm. recomended to change at 2mm thickness!! groove in original pad left 1mm thickness. Interestingly enough theres no groove in the new pads. I wonder why?

See, told you 10mm thickness all together... :p
