Just thought it would be polite of me to show you some pics of my SV650SY. Only bought it a month ago as a second bike, my other bike being a 2007 Kawasaki ZX6R (will also put a pic of that up too).
When I got the bike it looked like this:

And then this is a little quick progess picture board:

And now after a lot of work it looks like this:
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj12/jonabonospen/My%201999%20Suzuki%20SV650%20SY/IMG00083-20100618-1401.jpg
When I bought the bike I hadnt planned on turning it to a rat bike, but after having it a couple of days I decided that I couldnt live with the lipgloss coloured glittery paintwork, which did have quite a few areas of lauqer missing too, so I thought the cheapest and most fun thing to do would be to turn it rat.
So what do you think?
Oh, and here is a pic of my other bike:

Cheers mate. I prefer the kwak too but that is my pride and joy bike. The SV is the rat / sl@g / winter hack / experimental bike :D
Why on earth did you cover the seat in gaffa tape? It was already black!
Looking strangely good though. Ironically it will be a shame when the black paint starts to chip an it looks a bit tatty

Well when I put the standard seats on they just looked to new and clean to fit in with the rat look of the bike. So I decided the easiest way to get the look I was after was just to stick duct tape over both the seats. I think it sorta suits. It wants to look tatty. Everytime I work on it now I am as rough as possible with it so that it hopefully gets some knocks and chips and stuff cos underneath there is the red and gold it was in when I got it, then when I painted it I put a coat of green all over the tank then covered with black, plus there may be whatever the original colour was somewhere underneath it all. So when it starts getting chips in it they will be all different colours :D

Why do you say that? I know what you're saying, but thats part of the beauty of it being a rat bike. It wont ever get washed and it will chip and scratch easy I know that, but then again it cost me £50 to paint it rather than £500-£1000 if it was done properly. Its just a bit of fun really, something I can do this to and it not matter really.

Wasnt having a pop, but rattle can finish on normal surfaces dont last unless done really well with top coat of clear on top so some of the engine and exhaust will burn that sh*t off in no time.
Not a fan of rat bikes tbh but each to their own :)

I wasnt taking it as you having a pop mate dont worry, I was just curious what made you say it. I know it wont last, but hopefully the mud and grime and salt and stuff will cover that up sorta :D I arent particularly a big ratbike fan myself either, but I do like them though. Just thought it would make it an interesting project rather than just leaving it in the colours it was in which was done pretty poorly anyway.

Both of the bikes look great. Now with the rat bike you wanna turn it into something like this

Once it reaches that stage of rat-ness, you might actually ascend to heaven.
