Selling an old phone on ebay and one prospective bidder is asking for the IMEI and serial number of the phone so he can check the warranty and blacklist of phones. Should I be giving him this info?

Cheers,
Andy

I don't see the issue.

If I was buying a phone off ebay I would want to check it wasn't stolen and locked out.

no, I wouldnt give it to a stranger.

Sell it on the basis that it currently isnt blocked (assuming thats true), check them yourself and share the result.

IMEI numbers on certain phones can be changed via connection to a pc and running the software on the PC to change it.
So no I wouldn't give it out.
Something I used to do a few years ago, when friends had their phones blacklisted.

Edit:- all nokia phones are easy.
