I've driven since I was 17 and never had a puncture in a car. I have riddden mountainbikes - sometimes competitively since I was 22 and probably had 2 punctures ever. I just had another frikken puncture on my motorbike. I wouldn't have minded if the tyre was on it's last legs, but it's nearly new. Unfixable. Feck it.

So are motorbike tyres more prone or just one type? All my punctures have been in Michelins. Have you had a puncture? If so, in what make of tyre?

1 in an 014 Bridgestone caused by a piece of flint
1 in a Metzler Z6 caused by a shard of plastic from a bumper
1 in a Metzler Z6 caused by a piece of metal that shredded the tyre and knocked a lump out of the rear hugger

I think it may be something to do with where we ride on the road. Cars usually drive down the two swept tyre lane, and we don't. Maybe.

I also heard that most puncture are in rear tyres (certainly was the case for me with a nail in a BT014) as a nail that is lying down on the road can be flicked upright long enough for your rear to go over it. Holds for cars and bikes.

Every damn Avon Storm I've had on either SV has ended up getting a puncture, as theres a stupid loading bay at the end of the street.
Every rear Avon Storm I've ever had has just gone past the required depth for a free tyre under their garantee....SODS LAW :-(

The first rear I had was a Bridgestone....couldn't kill the thing for toffee, had a big hole in it, was square as a square table....eventually after 10,000 miles or so, it gave up!

Unfixable.

I've had countless punctures - but never had one that was unfixable (by me)
What do you (all) do with these unfixable tyres? (Give them to me :D)
