Can you tent share with someone? I managed all the above for myself, with a massive tent. I just used a Renntec rack. You should definitely try and make it mate.
Can you get the stuff to Halesowen or maybe Junction 3 of the M5?
Happy to take your tent and sleeping bag if that makes it easier to carry lighter stuff in a back pack or tail pack?

Sound as a pound. Can sort something nearer the time.
Re the details: just turn up, think it's £6 per night for camping. Food extra, then a slow and sedate ride with MANY others. Lots more drinking on the night. Good laugh...

Hi Mate. I will be at mine and Lily's home all day & evening the Wednesday prior to the AR, so if you PM me when you know you will come over, I will PM you our address and you can pop round. If your coming down on the Saturday, will it be prior to the rideout or will you be arriving and not doing the rideout?
If it is the latter, I will arrange to leave your stuff with someone who will be there all day.

No I don't mind you tagging along, I haven't figured out a route or a time for leaving yet, but I expect about 7:30 or 8am on the Saturday morning. Specialone said yesterday it's about 110 miles, so two hours is reasonable.
I am going to Portugal for a lads week away the following Friday, so don't want to spend two nights away from home that weekend.
I will be sticking to the speed limits all the way down though, as I am taking my XT600 which is geared for off road use and 70mph is about top speed.

Just to let you know, for all intending to do the rideout, it is a 9:30 briefing, followed by leaving at 10am sharp. However, if people do arrive late, its not a problem, they can join us at a later point. Details of which will be available on arrival.
In terms of mileage to get there, from Halesowen it is 64 miles going via Kiddy / Bewdly / Tenbury / Leominster. This is the fun route. If you were going to use Mway, then it is a similar time, but less fun. Get off at junction 7 of M5 at Worcester, follow signs to Hereford, then on to Clyro. The Mway route is 75miles from our house.

I would probably do the following route
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=b90+4xw&daddr=52.293362,-1.776352+to:A422+to:Clyro,+Hereford,+United+Kingdo m&hl=en&geocode=FR9cHwMdRJrk_ymfN0xMNLhwSDFvcvLCbRCAkQ%3B% 3BFT7UHAMd9kXi_w%3BFZLHGgMdEvDP_ynl76LZsClwSDEKP1l 4NygaOQ&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=11&via=1,2&sll=52.254709,-2.178726&sspn=0.31819,0.889206&ie=UTF8&ll=52.216863,-2.462311&spn=0.636921,1.778412&z=10
but is the Worcester to Hereford to Hay on Wye route no good then? What about Worcester to Leominster to Hay on Wye?
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=b90+4xw&daddr=High+St%2FA3400+to:A422+to:52.228641,-2.743149+to:Clyro,+Hereford,+United+Kingdom&hl=en&geocode=FR9cHwMdRJrk_ymfN0xMNLhwSDFvcvLCbRCAkQ%3BF dj3HQMdTtzk_w%3BFT7UHAMd9kXi_w%3B%3BFZLHGgMdEvDP_y nl76LZsClwSDEKP1l4NygaOQ&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=3&sz=11&via=1,2,3&sll=52.125901,-2.730789&sspn=0.319113,0.889206&ie=UTF8&ll=52.205082,-2.48291&spn=0.63709,1.778412&z=10

OK, I wouldn't worry about the briefing personally, I've done more forum rideouts than I can count and ridden to all the different systems, but I'm guessing you're a rideout newbie and would want to be there for 9:30? In this case I suggest we leave 7am? Meet you at the Total petrol station at the roundabout where Box Trees Road meets the A34 at Hockley Heath?

Well it's entirely up to you, but it probably is recommended, and GruntyGiggles might shoot me if I told you you didn't need to be there.
I'd offer you a place in my tent, but the one I take on the bike really is small, like 6ft x 4ft, it'd be like sharing a double bed and we'd be sleeping on top of our kit.

I might, if the wife wants to sunday, run the route then we'll have it all sorted in advance.

Ok Folks, rode over to the Ar site today, didnt program my sat nav beforehand and got a tiny bit lost in regards to the route id planned but not too bad.
This link is the route i took on the way there, tbh the route back was good as well, just followed signs for worcester and got on m5 at J7.
Best place to stop tbh after hopwood is the OK diner at leominster, unless peeps can suggest somewhere a bit more midway.
The ok diner is only about 25 mile to the ar site so a good place to get noshed up before arriving.
A couple of the roads havent got great surfaces and the one the ar site is on has been resurfaced with chippings a bit up from the site so a bit gravelly albeit i done 90 on it and didnt seem too loose.
Pic of AR site, there was jousting going on today but didnt see any, just about five guys dressed up as john paul gautier in his sailer get up, bit weird ;)
GG and the others have done an amazing job of finding this place it looks brilliant.

Please any suggestions welcome, this was only a quick route thrown together.

Nah had Clair pillion, so on best behaviour, she done well today actually, her longest distance, we done 190 miles in total.
I reckon, meet at hopwood around 9.45 and leave around 10ish, we should get to ok diner by 11.30am, food and fuel stop, leave there for 12.30pm, be at site for 1.00pm ish.
This gives us plenty of time to get the tents set up, get settled then go and get some supplies :)
Are us madlanders pitching in one patch? we could pitch in a defensive circle, to keep out them northerners lol

Bad news lies in my post...
I have just taken the call from the gaffer, my first game is going to be on the 7th August, nothing I can do to get out of it if I wanna make it into the other team I was talking to others about the other day (paid to play) as it is against them. So I'm out for the Friday at least, although I will make my best efforts to drive over after the game (bearing in mind that it will be past 4 when I will be leaving...) and stay for the night, but normally having something planned after a game, spells very bad things during a game.
Sorry guys, but this is something I have been aiming for since the back end of last year.
Fingers crossed for no injury to me and have a safe ride, and I'll see you all there on the Saturday evening.
Ps. Treacle, save me at least one Valley Girl eyy ;)

Or there's a set of size 10/12 practically brand new waterproof ladies textiles here, that she is more than welcome to borrow for the weekend. Maybe worn by Sandrine 10 times for a 1000 miles max, and never been worn next to the skin. Or she can have my waterproof oversuit, it would drown her and make her look like the Michelin woman (and I don't promise not to take photo's), but it would keep the water out. I bought a new textile jacket this week, and I am buying a set of waterproof overtrousers today, so I won't need my oversuit.

My 20 year old two man dome tent, which was last used 4 years ago and still looked brand new (on the same day I got my SV) has just been taken out of the bag and it's full of mould :-(
Where I lived in Scotland has an exceptionally damp atmosphere, stuff left in the attic though there were no leaks (brand new house) still had to be sealed to stop them going mouldy. I guess that's what's happened to it.
I'm off shopping for a new tent!

She would say, if you loved me you wouldnt take me out on the bike in the rain, you'd take me out in the car instead;)

Hi Chaps.
Rubbish news.... the bike seems to know it's the AR this weekend so has decided to play up. After a phone call with my mechanic, it seems the fuel pump is faulty.
It wont start. Cuts out if I get it going and lacks power when riding. Also when the key turns it doesnt make that whirring noise, just a small tick.
Sound like a fuel pump issue?
Anyway, hs anybody got a spare one knocking around in time to fit for Saturday?!
Cheers, Aran.

Not got a spare part, but do have a spare bike if you want to borrow it?
Pay for your own petrol and try not to crash and you can have it for the weekend if you want.

Go camping !!!
I am going camping, that's why I need a tent ;)
Go Outdoors :p had a suitable tent on their website, but the Coventry store wouldn't pick up the phone and I wasn't tripping over there to find there were none in stock, so I got an equivalent tent in Argos in Shirley for a pound more (better brand too I think).
Thanks for the offer mate, i'll ask her.
Ok, well either tell me tonight if you want them or, you'll have to come over and get them for yourself, they are in the wardrobe in the garage along with my stuff and Sandrine will let you in the garage. I'm off to Leeds first thing in the morning and not coming back until Friday night after you have left for Hay on Wye.
