hello one and all, thanks for the kind thoughts. Just to say I am recovering well and that despite me wrecking my pride and joy, I came away with only the most minor of injuries.

In fact when my old man saw me he wondered if it had been a wind up till he realised my bike really was gone!

I am not 100% certain on how I cooped the corner, but apparently I may have highsided, then taken a wee roller coaster spill down the steel armco barrier before becoming an impromtu and well dodged speed bump for the Spearies who were following.

Can I say that they are true friends and I have to name them here in thanks for all they did for me, so thanks -

Ben, Steve, Sally, Dyziowg, Andrew and Chris - You guys are the best and I am sorry for what I put you all through. I could never ask for a better bunch of guys to have had around me in that situation, so again THANKS!

I only have to do the insurance bit now and see where I go from there. Naturally it has given me a scare and everyone is reminding me that I have already used a considerable amount of my cats live with one thing or another, so my return to biking may not be immediate despite my true passion for it. I must consider other factors that have been running thru my head since the accident.

One last thing, a big thank you also to the emergency services that were in attendance, that was the officer from Killin police, Jane the first response paramedic who gave me the wonderful morphine and Allison and Malkie who got me to Stirling Hospital. To the 9 doctors who gave me the ok a big thanks also, but I can't remember all their names, but you were all very pretty and if you read this, I will gladly take any of them out for a drink, to say thanks of course.

As you can see by the long post I must be almost back to normal. Please, please, please take care out there and safe riding

Cheers

Chris

It was the first thing we heard about on arrival Friday night. Was really worried when we were told you had back probs. So I'm glad to hear you're well on the mend now mate.

****ty luck but some of the bends on that stretch are quite deceiving and 99% of the time we all just fluke it around to see the next straight. :(

Big (gentle) hug from Amanda and me. We'll see you sometime fella, 'til then mend up and take care.

Glad to hear you're in decent shape considering, sounded like a nasty one... I thought it was very considerate of you to get it out of the way before the rideout so as to avoid inconveniencing the marshalls :D

Cumfy, dont kid yourself about your mates, they all told me their first thought was "great now where's fenjer going to kip?!" ;)

Apparently they were reluctant to get the kit off the bike! :P

Seriously, though, glad you're ok.

The main thing is you are still walking and talking feller , the head doubts and stuff about riding again will pass and when you feel the time is right you will be back on a bike again . After my big one I didn`t think I would walk properly or ever ride again , but sometimes you pass a dealers and something catches your eye and your back on the road by the end of the week . Glad you didn`t have any major nasties from that one feller and I expect to see you there next year (I didn`t make it this year cos I spunked all my money on a new MTB frame)

Hey folks, thanks for all the well wishing. Just to update you all. Yes, I have been getting the rest and care required after my close call. Am back at work and just a bit tender, seen the physio and she was most disappointed in the lack of visible bruising, think that made her even more harsh in her treatment of me....

the insurers have picked up the bike and am awaiting the assessment, but fairly certain they are going to say "it's dead".

Glad everyone was so concerned with Fenjers sleeping arrangements, sure you would have been helped by some gent or lady present, yes I know that exculdes the Spearies but hey.....

Been looking at bikes, so think I will definitely be on two wheels again, but as to how soon, well hopefully for the Stuartyboy run at the end of the year for sure.

KG, will let you know about the parts as soon as I hear something but from C3huds assessment, erm, might want to leave it mate, ok.

Again big thanks to the Spearies and everyone else for their thoughts and (kind) words.

Cheers

PS why did my physio get all out of joint when I asked if I would be able to make trampoline training tonight???? Weird!!

Think about it mate, you go to trampolining, you are ina class with 20 gymnasts who are in the appropriate attire and fit, and more over as the coach they do as I say!!!

So

Cumfy 1 - DavePreston (who doesn't realise quite how brainy cumfy is) 0

I thank you

sorry sally, thought it was manuel, my bad. I remember me and manuel refitting some of the bungees to to his bike so must have been re-fixing it to his bike after you attempted to do it lol! You have a unique way of strapping stuff to bikes i'll give you that ;)

How? :O

My bike was perfectly packed :)

Just that the packing was taller than me on the bike :)

For the record I am still ALIVE and I am obviously getting sorted as today I went bike shopping. YAY! Don't know what the situation is yet with the insurance but its best to move forward and start sorting new kit out at the very least.

Anyone had to do this through the insurers before, naturally am a total novice to the claims and insurance world. Thanks peeps agin for well wishing, at this rate might be ready for the AR (but not making any promises)

Cheers
