Well, unfortunately I need to spend some days at kings College Hospital in London SE5 and I have a problem with parking and paying £2.00 per hour. Considering Im looking at about 4x days because my daughter is in for some operations and I need to be close by. I don’t mind getting a hotel, but none offer any parking that I can find.

So I wonder is there anybody in the .org that lives close just so I can dump my car on a driveway and walk to the hotel. I don’t mind a few miles on foot. I can reward with beer, wine cash or discounts on car parts. I don’t expect it for free, but don’t expect it to be £2.00 per hour!

Cant you stay somewhere like Croydon and get the train to Denmark Hill (Nearest station). I know a few hotels that have car parks there, namely the holiday inn.

TSM do you know the Peckham Lodge here http://peckham-lodge-london.hotel-rez.com/
Your location leads me to suspect you are a local?

PM me, I live in a gated development about 15 mins walk from Kings - or you can get a bus that takes less.

While I dont have a space as such (I have a garage), I should be able to get a neighbour to ok using their unused space.

Kings has free bike parking at the far end of Bessemer Road.

Although i wouldn't let my bike out of my sight aroud there.

My friend works there and parts from bikes even whole bikes have been known to vanish.

A despatch riders bike was stolen whilst he went into the hospital with the delivery.:???:

reason i say camberwell green, is its right in the open next to Haart estate agency and the main bus stop, i used to work in Haart and in the years i was there never had a prob with my bike parked there.

Fair point but would you happily leave it there for 4 whole days?

Thanks for all these replies I really appreciate the response on this, sadly my situation is far worse than we initially thought. My daughter is seriously ill and still in Kings, I have not had any internet access hence no replies from me. I took the parking charges on the chin and they have been expensive, the old garden center next to the hospital is £2.00 hour or just a tenner for the whole day. And I left the car in the hospital car park and racked up £42 in fees that when I went to pay at the machine discovered it wont accept the new £20 note. So I pressed the help button and the man just said its ok mate just go to barrier and I will let you pass no charge! Result. Unlike the horrific beds I found, so I decided to drive out to Brands Hatch and stay at the Thistle there which was well worth the short drive.
My daughter is having an MRI scan Tuesday (tomorrow) and we will also get some lab results on Thursday. Then I will know if I need to take up a parking space from somebody here, waiting for results is agony. Feeling the emotions of your worst fears and having to wait before you know anything. I wont splatter all the details on here but Im sure its obvious its a pretty grim situation for my family right now.

TSM & Soulkiss thanks for these offers, I will PM you if required to go further.
