.... what image-editing (I don't mean solely photo-editing) software do you use?

I've been looking at Photoline32 (http://www.pl32.com/index.php), which looks well specified at a nice price, and will be looking at Photoshop Elements (I ain't forking out for the full Photoshop!).

Any others I should consider? Anything wrong with Gimp?

And no, iPhoto won't do!

Seashore is a free if somewhat simplistic editor if you want to give that a try too.

You could always just get hold of a copy of Photoshop in AN ENTIRELY LEGITIMATE AND LEGAL WAY, you know.

My favourite image editor of all time is Paintshop Pro but for some reason they never made a Mac version.

Photoshop for proper editing; there's no point having anything else. Iphoto for little touches and organising.
