View Full Version : SV1000 soldiers on for another year
Bike passed the MOT yesterday :smt041
Got three advisories - rear tyre is low which I knew - rear wheel bearings have a little play and there is a slight fluctuation in the braking efficiency at the rear so he suggested that the disk is worn. Not too bad considering really - bike has done 22k now and I have no idea of the life it lead before I bought it.
He will swap my worn BT021 for the part worn BT021 I have in the garage roof for £20 - will probably get him to do the wheel bearings at the same time - just looked up the cost of them - ouch!

Good news :-)
Time for some nice wavy discs perhaps??
I was pleased - total cost £29.50 :) I did think about swapping the disks but they aren't cheap so as they are only an advisory and the brakes feel fine I will leave them alone for now - especially as yesterday we heard we may have to go onto a 3 day week here - not a good time to be buying toys... :(

Oh that sucks hun :-(
I know - management have all taken a 10% pay cut - there is work in the pipeline but its surviving until that point which is the problem - hey ho.
Aaaaannyway - bike is taxed, MOTd and insured until next April so its all good for now :D

well she got offered a new job , higher pay etc, lintott offered to match but from what i gather its un stable there currently, thought id seen a sv1000 parked outside numerous times,
I have commuted on it more this year than any other - its cheaper on fuel than my Honda Accord Type-R!
Not seen you pick her up on a bike though - do you get her on the back?

Would you believe, a bearing supplier :)
Halifax Bearings, just find your local one. The bearings are a bog standard industry size in every catalogue. For some bloody bizarre reason, suzuki add another zero on the price.
Get Koyo if you can.
