View Full Version : Canon 450D or Nikon D5000??
Mrs w :smt061 is buying me an un-birthday pressie. :makelurve:
Which of the above?
Would you get the twin lens bundle, or the body with a 70-300mm?
What does she expect in return? :smt008

Canon 450D is very nice, and a good step up from my 400. I'd get just the kit lens, and then wait a little until you know for sure what lens to buy.

Canons seemed extremely small when I went looking/testing at them, worth checking out, either camera will do more than you need but if it's a pain to handle it won't be fun to use...
Kit lens is the most useful, but a 70-300 has it's moments

GF has the d5000 and its very nice, and has loads of functions, the lens is also very good, but would benefit from more zoom (and thats only after 2 days of playing with it) and the 720p video is nice and sharp and the sound is good
this is a photo i took with the d5000 yesterday in Stratford on manual settings (i think it was 1/25 shutter 300iso auto WB and cant remember what the aperture was)
