link to charity ride (http://www.papworthhospitalcharity.org.uk/event/motorbike-festival-aid-papworth-hospital-charity)

Organised by buell uk group. Looks and sounds good. It's a bit of a trek I know but for a good cause.

I'm leaving brum around 830 to get there for 1030 - 1100. If anyone fancies a ride out.

Oh some duc's will be there too.

Mark.

I'm going:smt003

Me in Car, Peg on my Raptor. I've always missed them before, as I've always been working.
The Raptor Chapter always make an effort to go. By the looks of it, there may be a Uk record for the amount of Raptors all in one place!!!
I know its always a good doooooo:cool:

''It'll shake yer bones Dizz''

It wasn't until I put the phone down last night, that I thought...hmmm Dizz better stand clear a bit when it starts up. Wouldn't want anything else being shaken loose!!

I fancy a ride out with some orger's ASAP.

However, this is defintely a trek. Are you motorwaying? and what time are you expected back home?

Is there anything going on closer to home any time soon?

Plus I want a big-ish org rideout - (Throws toys out of pram!)

Oh and it's MOT time tommorrow, so I may be bikeless, but I hope not!

Thats called the AR hun;)

This event really isn't a ride out, obviously if peeps from your neck of the woods go, then riding up is a rideout..lol.

This is merely a heads up to a great day out, for a good cause, and if peeps go it would be nice to see a good turn out from those lesser spotted SV guys:smt003

I know, but I HATE camping and can't afford to stay else where for the night. Plus I don't like carrying luggage/tents.

Maybe I should just tag along on the AR then ride home when appropriate?

dizzyblonde
13-07-10, 09:45 AM
Well I can't help you there unfortunately. I'm not overly keen on camping myself, but do it as its sometimes the only option on a good weekend org event.
Put it this way, if I make it to the AR I will be nearly 8 months pregnant, which is a sight more awkward and uncomfortable, and I will be camping...so If I can.....you can!

Anyway, this is derailing slightly ;-)

Meh.

(I have no valid reasons not to go now, how do I top that?! Cheers!!!!)

I'm not stopping over night - not taking buell on motorways. I am looking at getting back for dinner time ( depending on what's happening). No route as yet either so if you know a good one I'm open.

As for a meeting
Point somewhere ne brum for easy escape I presume.

Again ideas welcome.

Well seeing as the Lancaster taxi run is at 13:00 and 15:00 and theres a spitfire flypast at some point, I'd say if you were wanting to be home for dinner time, you'd be missing all the fun!

However ^^^ thats a Northern dinner time...which is a southern lunchtime:rolleyes:

For me in brum that's about 730 when the little one is in bed - plus it's only 2 hours ride, I think.

Ok, our plans have firmed up. We aim to get to Melton Mowbray Co-op for 8.30 to have brekkie in their cafe and maybe link up with a couple of other people. We will leave promptly at 9.30.

The Co-op is here.

OMG noooooooo!!!!:p

Well Raptor now has a new rear Storm Ultra, had to fill bike and car up with fuel, and I have to say for a ten mile round trip Peg certainly felt it could corner well! At one point it seemed he could have got the knee(if he had one) and an elbow down!
So looking forward to this now the bikes looking to be going...even if I can only watch it being put through its paces from the car window.
However if it don't stop raining, it won't get the Dizz shiny downpipe treatment, it needs a wash :(

Might see if I can get down in the afternoon...

Be good to see you Ol. Hows the bike behaving?
I think those dozy gits in the dealers decided that if they filled up half a radiator, the Raptor rad might not blow up for me again!
So fingers crossed both our bikes will behave eh? :-)

Just to say IIRC the Lancaster starts up at 13:00 and 15:00, if you are popping down in the aft...wouldn't want to be missing that. Dunno what time the flypast is for the Spitfires though.

Website says 3:50, IIRC.

I only got the bike on the road last weekend, starting off with the Wakefield MAG treasure hunt (booby prize winner is me, because I know what I can carry on the S3 - 5 fizzy lollies is my sort of prize)

Hi all, just bought my first bike last month, a lovely 2000 sv650! Just wondering if anyone is going from the Sheffield/Rotherham area that I could tag along with?
Thanks,
jamie

I'm from that neck of the woods, but I'm going to be out early doors with my IAM group. Depending on what happens there, I could ride down with you from doncaster or meet you halfway. It would only be the afternoon in that case though.

Newowner
14-07-10, 06:15 PM
Hi orose, that could be an option. All I will say is I probably ride a lot more slowly than you and don't want to spoil your run down, but if you're ok with that then it could work? Let me know at some point what you plan on doing and we'll take it from there. Thanks, jamie

I've given up rushing around the place these days... nice and progressive, thats me :p

Won't know what I'm doing until about 9am Saturday though, so I'm going to try and twist things to work for this as well - hence no firm plans yet.

Alright no problem. If you let me know via here on Saturday sometime between 9&10 I get Internet on my phone so will check around that time.
