Had one for about three years now (32 inch LCD), does what I need it to do. That said I'm not a big tv watcher, basically bike racing..... In laws also have one, it broke during the guarantee period (was 2 yrs) but the service to pick it up, repair and return it was excellent.

yes they are fine, they are a big LCD panel manufacturer for other makes, I used to buy 80 21" tv's of these at a time, never had problem with them or my 32" LCD.

NO,
I wouldnt buy one, and I defiantly wouldn't buy it in that size it will be crap.
HD will be laggy and look awful and and SD will be blockey as hell and in general the set will be poor picture quality just throw the extra to and get something better it wont be much more.
4000:1 Contrast ratio lol .... <<< are you kidding.
there is an entry level LG set on curry's website for 430 so if you look around the net you will find one for say 400 which will provide a much better quality picture and better spec the contrast ratio is 3,000,000:1 for example.
Iwould go plasma over lcd anyway only get an LCD if 32" and under.

We had a 42" sony LCD tv which was great, that then broke and we then got a samsung 50" plasma which when watching things such as BSB it becomes all pixelated and crap and its not the only plasma i have seen do this, LCD is far better imo

lol you buying the wrong sets then mate ;) have a look through the threads i posted for my views im not typing it all out again lol.
come round to my house and i will show you what my 2 fully calibrated plasma's looks like playing 1080p blu-ray movies and Standared Def content and then tell me LCD is better.
I have 50" Panasonic in the front room, 42" Samsung which I have in the chill out room also got a 32" Toshiba LCD in the bedroom and a Relisys 15" in the kintcheni have also owned several other sets a mix of lcd and plasma over the past 2 years in various sizes from 32" to 50" and regally review what to upgrade to next as you can see from my setups i am a bit of a Audio and Visual Buff , its my Main hobby and spend alot of time researching and reading reviews on different Kit but every one has there own opinion but i defiantly prefer Plasma for picture quality from my own experiences with the sets i have owned and set-up for people.
