Just looked out my window and see loads of caravans and battered old vehicles. Yep it's the dreaded "Traveller's". My SV is outside my house but i don't know how long for. TBH if they have it the £4.5k from the GAP insurance and the payout would be nice but i don't want to lose my SV.

It's the 2nd coming of the pikeys as the area was gated off with a massive boulder placed behind it but they seem to be doing work there and moved the boulder, now they have moved in. Phoned the police and it will get sorted hopefully. Doubt it will be before the weekend.

Scumbags. Shame they're so close as you can't do much without it being directly attributable. Unfortunately the police are bound to investigate 'offences' against these 'people'.

Find some WPs and some crackheads to throw them :)

I recall a line from a movie.

Turkish: "I ******' hate Pikeys"

You have my sympathy for your unfortunate new 'neighbours'.

I've got my little spy window out of the kitchen to take pop shots from. Got my stupid reference from the non-emergency police. Waste of time but i suppose it isn't important. TBH i'm thinking insurance payout atm for the SV. Worse is it's private land, if it was council they would of been moved on before the clean up bill gets too big.

Annoying thing is i got my car, works van and bike all easy access.

Can you move your car and bike to a mates garage or something for a while?

Maybe you could go over, say hello and get to know them, you could even take over some home made flapjack as a welcome gift to your new neighbours. Often a nice bottle of wine goes down well at such situations when new neighbours move in to your street, bringing a new sense of community and happiness, especially if they have young children. You could even recommend which local school is best and has the highest Ofsted report to them. Don't forget, a stranger is just a friend you don't know yet.

Be happy... ;-)

Get the boulder moved back. that way, they are only your problem, your welcome to them and they cannot inflict themselves on anybody else.

A lot round here moved in over a bank holiday weekend. By the time the council had got round to doing anything they had put a 1000 ton of hardcore down, installed septic tanks/drainage and stuck in a planning application.

It took near on a year for the planning, appeal etc to get them ordered off. and they just got fined mega bucks for the illegal dumping of 1000 ton of hardcore.

Still haven't gone yet though. they are brazen enough to stick it out to the end.

they're thinking of putting a permanent diddy site down by the motorway, i feel sorry for the people living round eastleigh and stoneham

Search out a fireworks supplier, set the fireworks up to be aimed directly at their vans from the other side and wait til about 3am then set the bloody lot off. Do this the following night if they haven't taken the hint and guaranteed they'll be gone the next day. It worked where I used to live - cost everyone in our close 20 quid each, but it was worth it.

Yeah, nothing says you know what you're doing like pointlessly ejecting a perfectly good shell onto the floor :smt110

I wouldn't have a problem with them - providing they didn't leave such a fecking mess everywhere they stop.

Scumbags.

Whaaat?

Did you not know?. about 3 or 4 years ago they took over one of the fields right next to the motorway off stoneham lane, the land owner blocked them in by blocking the gate with massive boulders.... not sure what happened but they eventually buggered off and came back a few months later to take over the playing field opposite the cricketers pub on chesnut avenue... since then council put a plan up to build a perminant diddy site in one of the fields back down off stoneham lane which means the surounding area's (including mine and maybe yours) will be getting trouble with them. not sure what has happened to the plans they might have scrapped them due to the locals kicking up although knowing eastleigh council i very much doubt it

so thats the way to do it people... pay no taxes, knick stuff, cause a **** load of trouble, leave you **** everywhere for someone else to clean up, destroy area's and generally be a scumbag of humanity and you'll get somewhere to live!

Good news for you.... that's not true. A private land owner can get 'em shifted far quicker than a local authority. Matter of days usually.

A local authority has to assess their educational, welfare, social and housing needs before going to Court. Case gets thrown out if this isn't done. Can take weeks, even a couple of months sometimes. And then they get the clean-up costs on top.

Even harder though when the pikeys actually own the land they are using without planning permission, it is then back to the council to evict them.

But it is so unfair that the land owner must pick up the cost of cleaning up after them. One local sports club had them occupy their football pitch. after they finally went, they had the problem of rubble, rubbish and excrement dumped where people were expecting to play.

Don't forget to aim for the head

Destroy the head, it's the only way to kill 'em...

Did you not know?. !

Some pikey scum broke onto the airfield and nicked generators from the valley park side a few years ago. Hopefully we will treat the feckers as terrorists if they try it again.

Are they related to cockroaches?

yorkie_chris
16-07-10, 09:52 AM
No... I'd rather have cockroaches living next door.

But it is so unfair that the land owner must pick up the cost of cleaning up after them.

They left the place in a reet tip when they were on my Dads yard... luckily only for 48 hours or so.

Though helpfully the unit next door builds roadsweepers, so the cleanup took about 14 seconds :)

Yes, only with less manners and etiquette...

You lot can be so unkind, these are living beings you are talking about and they actually do a lot of good for our society, they remove rubbish and break down decaying organic material. They also make interesting pets, fancy comparing them to Pikeys!

Poor Cockroaches... #-o

As an aside, just make sure that you are not branding all travelers with the same bad conscience. Some traveler groups can be lovely, but they tend to hate the Pikey kind as well, usually for the very same mess, bad attitude and criminality that worries you all too.
