Welcome to a lovely happy place on the web. The SV is a great first bike and you will love it. Just be careful, my partner keeps nicking mine!

Good luck with your tests.

Welcome Jules! Whereabouts in this lovely country/world are you? There are regional sections, so you can find yours and say hello in there as well and meet some people to ride with :-)

'Tis a fab place this...you'll find it becomes a part of your life, no matter how hard you try to stop it ;-)

Welcome, welcome.

After riding a school bike the SV will be an enormous improvement (in everything except turning circle). But tell the o/h to take it easy at first, and if he decides to go off on a blast let him go. Ride at your own speed and don't feel you have to keep up.

Good luck with the test,

K.

hi all - thanks for the warm welcomes, im from guildford, surrey, england.
the o/h has already gone charging off so i let him go - he also has yamaha thunderace - and im on a battered old 125, lmao so there is no way in my wildest dreams i could keep up either - and considering it was first day on road as a biker, i was pooing myself!!! whats the problems with the sv and circles then?!?!?!

They melt....so you really must be ordained in the shiny downpipe club. All members get a free pair of sunglasses and a guide to using Autosol:p

but then after reading your post again, circles? I suppose you mean turning? Thats crap too, if its faired. Got more chance of turning my poofwaggon in three on my road!

It's a faired bike. The turn of the front wheel from lock to lock is nowhere near as much as you get on the naked training bikes you'll be doing your test on. The U-Turn you so in your Mod 1 is nigh on impossible on a faired bike unless you are an amazing rider or can bend metal and plastic...lol.

You'll get used to it in no time, I passed my test in April and haven't looked back. :-)

Riding schools like bikes with quite a tight turning circle because it makes the U-turn exercise easier. The SV (well mine anyway) doesnt' have the same turning circle at all.

But don't let that discourage you, it's a great first bike.

Keith.
