Recommend me a cheap waterproof 1-2 man tent, foolproof to put up/down and easy to strap to the sv.
I have next to no real camping experience so other essential bits I should get are?

Dunna ask me I just spent £200.
Serioulsy look on Halfords website and Millets. Both have a tent sale and both have review pages for their tents. Oh and Argos too.
I have just spent 3 days looking at tents xxx

In this pic on the back of my SV at last years AR, I do have a renntec rack, but have sat as a pillion on this bike with panniers(instead of tailpack) and same camping gear without a rack on the back.
3 man Tent
Double Air Bed
Double Sleeping bag
Inflatable pillows
Tailpack and tankbag contained...
One long leather trenchcoat
One pair of New Rock knee high boots
Fancy dress
Trainers
Other clothes
HUGE towel
a girls wash bag and makeup
Shampoo etc
You get the jist of the kitchen sink;)

IIRC Shell, those pop up tents from Millets are like a massive flat circle...so not good for on the back of the bike, unless you need to use it as some sort of brake sail!

Rentecc rack - have a look on ebay for one rrp £60 ish but you can strap loads of stuff to them (above pics show tents/sleeping bags/camping stuff wrapped in bin bags for waterproofing all ratchet strapped to the bike).
Outdoormegastore.co.uk - some crackingly cheap tents, next day delivery to mainland UK... and awesome prices: bought a 5 man teepee for £45 for the isle of man trip and a 5 man dome tent with a flynet for £80... Defo worth finding some sort of rollmatt (I use a 'self inflating' roll matt) otherwise the ground acts as a giant heatsink & saps all the heat from your body. Find some ratchet straps on ebay for a couple of quid, much more effective than bungee straps and you can tighten them up good and propper

It'll go on. I took stuff for two people and a tent on the back of my GSXR for AR06.
You'll need some luggage, tailpack / panniers / tankbag.
Put your stuff in the luggage and then bungee the tent / rollmat / sleeping bag across the back of the bike.
Just be careful what you take and only take what you really need. Its only a weekend away so you dont need to take the entire contents of your house with you ;)
As for where to buy try any of these
Halfords
Milletts / Blacks ( same range of stock )
Go outdoors
Or have a look on the web / ebay
This was what I took for a week away in Ireland, again clothes etc for two people

Only thing I'd do differently if I was camping would be to take bungee my tent across the top of it or behind the tailpack. Takes a bit of packing and stacking but it can be done.
Tesco was a great shout for Carty when we went to France.
Cost him less than a tenner i think and was roomy and waterproof, plus an absolute **** easy thing to put up.
Win win really.

Welllll
Went to my local Go Outdoors today for a gander, ended up walking out with one of these. (http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/hi-gear-ion-2-p108986#descTabSect2)
Queued for AGES (like 20 mins) and complained to the manager who happened to be standing close, and got 25% extra discount. lol. Result!
Pitched it in about 15 mins in my garden, even with my mangled wrist. Then spent about 30 trying to pack it all back into the teeny pack it came with...nearly gave up! Finally got the fecker all in though.
All I need now is...
Airbed + Pump
Sleeping Bag
Small Torch
Overnight bag
Wont need any cooking equipment, I'll burger van it all weekend!
Would really fancy a renntec rack but cant afford it right now :(
It'll be ok to just bungee it all to the pillion seat/grab rail wont it?

I did have a look just now actually, none there :(
Need me a bargain! Oxford Sports Tank bags are giong cheapish too right now.
Althoug thinking about it, I reckon I wont even have much loaded onto the bike. Probably 3 items?
Overnight Bag, Sleeping Bag, possibly airbed? Rest of the stuff will go in the overnight bag, inc the tent.
But yeah, should be ok to just bungee onto the pillion seat, grab rail and around under the tail?

My local Tesco are knocking out Campingaz single airbeds for £5.50. They pack down quite small and are over £20 everywhere else I've seen them.

Hong I`ll be carrying a 12 v pump, you can use. I got the atom 3, 3 birth from go camping for £24.99, on offer all this week. Double airbed, not taking a sleeping bag, just an over cover that came with my sleeping bag thats furry and warm :) Wrap everything together nice n tight, bin bag it and the bundle ends up being pretty small.
